Today I took my Nissan to get the coolant system flushed and Oil, lube and filter changed. When I was driving to the dealer I was worried because the gas gauge was pointing to "E", and moved very little. ( I filled it up took a full 13.08 gallons WOW!)But anyway I went to the gym for a couple of hours and when I finished my workout, I turned my cell phone back on and checked my voicemail, Service advisor had left me a message telling me that my car was ready to pickup. I waited like 10 minutes in line behind other customers and finally get up to cashier, cost me $135. I hope my engine is happy, I have a trip to take tommorrow that is about 180 mile each way.

They also did a written inspection checklist and gave me a copy of all the things they checked and were in good condition. They made some notes about the brake pad life, and other than check marks for all items that were "OK" they made one note about "transmission leaks". anybody have a clue what this could mean? The Service advisor said nothing to me, a tech didn't come out of the bay to explain the possible dangerous condition of the transmission or anything. So what am I supposed to think?

I started reading through the FSM to see what seals could possibly be leaking, I don't know. It is a 5 speed, and the last work done on the transmission was Nissan when they installed my ACT clutch, about 2-3 years ago.

Should I just call the advisior and ask him to elaborate on the leaks found on my transmission?

you can, And he will tell you its either the switches, the shift boot, or the speedo pinion seal. These are all very common on the nissan 5spd trans. I am suprised they did not try to "upsell" the repair. Usually the advisor wont inform you of it if there was not a parts availability and price request done by the tech. The leak may be very minor and didnt warrent any recommended repairs just a note to watch for leaks. Definitly call and inquire weather its something you need to be concerned with.

I'll call the SVC advisor and check. The easiest thing I guess would be to jack it up put it on stands and look myself to see where it is leaking if indeed it is. The best places to look for leakage are at the sensors/ switches then? Also around the shift boot.

You got it. If it helps it can all be seen from the passenger side.
