Hi there.... I'm new to both this forum, as well as owning a Nissan Versa. I crashed my 2003 Nissan Frontier (6 years ownership w/ 86,000 miles) into a tree after losing control on an icy road (Pics Here) . Insurance totaled my truck.... I wasn't injured in the accident, thank God! I purchased my V 1.8 S Hatchback at the tail end of December 2010 (date unsure). Unfortunately, I haven't cleaned it in about 10 days since we had TWO more snowstorms since....

I went to Wal-Mart and purchased some new 15" hubcaps for it:

Gonna do more modifications as money becomes available...... Will list my modifications once I assemble a complete list.

On my first fill-up, I drove 296 miles and put 11.378 gallons in for an average of 26 MPG. These trips weren't my normal driving, as I went here and there, in city and on the highway. Rather abnormal driving patterns for me....

On my second, I drove 268 miles and put 9.145 gallons in for an average of 29.3 MPG. On the highway, I kept my speed to around 70 mph (around 3000 RPM) and on the main drag, I did about 60 mph.... About 17 miles one way....

On my third, I drove 321 miles and put 10.417 gallons in for an average of 30.8 MPG. I tried to avoid the highway this time, thinking I might be able to boost my miles per gallon enough to justify it. About 20 miles one way..... Turns out that the extra miles traveled more than cancel out the mpg increase....

Does this sound normal? I've got 893 miles on my V so far :rotfl

BTW, I took my hubcaps back to Walmart and got different ones. I haven't had a chance to take pics of my car with the new ones on since it's raining outside.....

Wish list sounds good. Also, Versa parts fit 07-11 so you're good with the projectors.

What % window tint do you plan on going with?

Awesome! Makes me really happy to hear that!

I'm not sure..... Any suggestions on that one?

I also found a body decal here that I'm interested in...... My wife isn't thrilled about it, though.... Please tell me what you think about putting this decal on my red V....

Oh, yeah.... I forgot to mention that along with the replacement radio, I'll also be adding a rear-view camera. I really need an auto-dimming mirror, since mine has power-nothing :frown: Some fog lights would be nice, too....

I have 5% in my sedan so I would suggest the same, I'd also say check your local laws. And Im not a big fan of decals, not bad though.

Which radio do you plan on getting? Rear-view camera would be nice. Same with the fogs, have you heard of the Walmart fogs? And "power-nothing" here as well so dont feel bad. Is yours auto or manual?

About the window tint: Okay. Thanks for the suggestion....

About the radio: The replacement radio is a Pioneer AVH-P3200BT DVD receiver. I can hook up a backup camera to it easily (assuming I can figure out how to run the wires)

About fog lights: I've thought about using the fog lights that Wal-Mart carries, but I'm also interested in a "factory look" to the fog lights, too..... Haven't really made any decisions regarding them yet, as money won't be available to get them for a while....

My V is a 6-speed manual. Honestly, I really don't like manual transmissions that much anymore, but my V was one of the cheapest vehicles on the dealership lot and was the easiest to afford because of no monthly payments......

Sounds good. Radio looks good. And I hear you, mine is 5-speed(1.6 engine) so it can get tiring during rush hour.

What do you mean no monthly payments? Paid it cash? Hope you dont mind the question.

Nah, I don't mind. Don't wanna brag, either.... Well, between the insurance payout on totalling my Frontier, the vendor discount, and the rebates, it left me with an amount that the dealership refused to finance (still don't understand that one). :tisk: So I paid the rest off with my credit card.... But our financial situation isn't such that we can easily afford another car payment at this time....

Hey, iluvmyVersa08..... Did your Versa come with the chrome door handles? Cause if not, I would love to know where/how you got them at!

Thanks. It took me a little time, but I found a website that sells them: AutoAmenity. Yay! Another thing to add to my wishlist :lolling:

I finally got a pic of my chrome hubcaps. Here it is:

Okay, my fourth fill-up was 284 miles on 10.166 gallons, making it 28 mpg. I took the interstate, going about 10 over the speed limit.... Yeah, I know. I shouldn't be speeding, but it gets me there faster (or at least it feels like it does).

I checked several websites for Tennessee laws regarding tinting. This website (as well as all the others) say the tint must allow 35% of the light in. So, I assume that any company I take the car to get it tinted will know the local laws and won't screw me over by putting illegal tint on my ride.... cause I'm not going to try that one by myself....

I think I'm just gonna drop the idea for the auto decal..... It's okay, but not "okay enough" if my wife gives me hell over it... and she DON'T like it! :gapteeth:

I hear you man. Sometimes I wish I would've gotten a Versa with power package but I'm happy with my payments.

Do you plan on debadging your emblems or anything? How about aftermarket parts?
