is hanging out the bottom of my s14 with it's stock front bumper. I'm going to try to post a pic, please disregard the crookedness, I'm fixing that as we speak. My question is, what did you guys do with the plastic pieces on either side of the core?? they are hanging down. Also, would there be any benifit of getting a bodykit -apperance? I kinda like the way the stock front end looks. Does anybody know how far those chin spoilers come down? I know this is a bunch of questions in a fourm not exactly suited for them, but you guys have all done this so I know you know. Thanks Scott

That can't be installed correctly, I mean, I have a Hybrid Power intercooler which is physically bigger than the Greddy and HKS units and while it is low, it doesn't hang out past the bottom of the bummper.

i had to take the bumper support out to install mine on mah s13. i have an r33 fmic, so it's a pretty decent size, and mine hangs to the bottom of the bumper w/ slack at the top. i would think it would almost be the same on the s14's. just play around w/ it.

Yeah, my Hybrid is like his Greddy, but a bit wider. I cut my bumper support for it to fit, I didn't like the idea of not having any impact resistance on the sides, by where the framerails were. If I get hit dead center it does me no good, but an offcenter impact (which most impacts are) will be lessened a bit.

On the kouki S14, it is fairly common for the FMIC to hang below the front bumper like that. reference to s13 is irrelevent, as each bodystype front fitment is different. Another reason you see some silvias with upgraded front bumpers and not the rest of the bodykit. you can mount it higher, but i say buy a S14 kouki aero front bumper and solve your problem with good looks too.

yeah i think im gonna be having the same problem as 14project i have the greddy four row and its a healthy int. to say the least. but dont you guys worry about torsion when you remove the bumper support especially with a unibody car. i test fitted mine th other day and it seemed like the only option was to cut the bumper support is this true?thanks Dane

Ok, Here's the deal, In my opinion, my father being a state trooper for 25 yrs and me getting to see some pretty ****ed up stuff, If you cut your bumper support, your in for some serious **** if you get hit head on....I.e. engine in your lap. They had to recall some honda's a couple of years ago because the bumper supports were so weak that during a head on collision the engine would end up in the cab of the car. I'd rather have my big *** intercooler hang out the bottom of my stock bumper and then have it all fit in a body kit than cut my bumper support and risk it. I mean, I'm not that good of a driver anyways...Just my 2 cents Scott

No I mean 6M :ylsuper Its the JDM counterpart to the 5M that came in JDM Celica XX's and Cressida's. 190hp 190tq and its a 3.0 liter. It was actually where the 7M came from: the 7M cranks actually have 6M stamped on them.

The MK3 7M stuff bolts up perfectly to the 5M/6M motors, I jsut adapted a 7M turbo kit (ct26 and stock fmic) and bolted it on to my 6M. Low 13 second car and a lot of torque :p till the head gasket went

You do realize that all the vehicles around the the rest of the world do not have our bumper supports... the US is the only country in the world to require such a reinforrced bar... NONE of the Japanese vehicles (even the ones we receive varients of) have such structural bars... all the clips I've even seen have just a thin piece of steel/aluminum up there... where here we have this heavy *** thick piece of crap... if the rest of the world gets along without it, why do we need it?

Well... that's not necessarily true...

I'm sure if you compared statistics we American's simply can't drive... we get in more accidents and have more fatalities, simply because the general public can't drive. We've got things backwards here. Look at Europe. You can drink when you're 12, but can't drive until you're 18! (I think that's right, if not higher). But here, you can drive as young as 14 in some places, but can't drink until you're 21.

I think you should seriously not swap your motor, and focus on brakes and suspension. It REALLY REALLY SCARES me that you want to make your car faster, but don't seem confident in your driving abilities.Accidents shouldn't happen.

Drive Safe, thats all i can say i guess.
