Chunks of my pistons decided to fall out, of every single piston, while I was disassembling the piston/rod combo. I dont care, rods are going to get shotpeened and i'm buying 8.5:1 comp pistons, so it's actually kinda cool, hahah.

Sorry for the crappy pic by the way, but you get the point.

Well there are chunks missing that I dont have, so they were either floating around with the motor running or they fell out sometime during disassembly or something. The motor was pulled out of the car like 2 years ago.

got damn man. If that thing was still in your car and running at the time they had their separation anxiety (sp?), you'd really be royaly f**ked.

The block looks ok, its getting rehoned of course and bored .020" over. This isn't the motor that was in my car by the way, I bought this long block for 50 bucks. It used to be a turbo motor that fried #3 really nice, and apparently the others weren't in much better shape, haha.

Are those pieces of your pistons?

Look like broken pieces of piston rings to me.

THey do kinda look like rings, but if you say they're chunks I'll take your word for it.

Hard to tell from the picture, but looking closer, they might not be rings. Some of the pieces are pretty straight, not curved like a ring would be.

Werd...upon closer review, some of the debris is rather straight. The most notable debris in question is the peice on the far right which seems to have approximately 180 degrees of flatness unlike the round nature of the rings that are found on a piston. My intial ignorance if officially confirmed. HOwever I do not apologize for any statements I have made or will make for future refrence.

Holy cow man. I've seen a lot of nasty piston damage but all 4 being cracked? That's crazy.

Dam they look a little better than my freinds 280ZX turbo pistons. That was 3 out of 6 with broke ring landinds and skirts.

My bad its pieces of the ringlands, but still, every single piston. This car had some SERIOUS detonation right before the motor was pulled, so yea....
