99% probability that your alternator is failing. Consider changing the alternator belt and this might solve it, but I doubt it.
The reason it goes off after you run the car for awhile is further sign that the battery or alternator is failing. Once the battery finally builds up enough voltage, the lights will go off. KEEP IN MIND that hard driving (flooring it everywhere like me) will draw alot of power and will kill a dying alternator/battery. So take it easy till ya get it sorted out.
Definately the alternator. You can DIY if you have good tools and good mechanical experience. NiCO club forums will help alot!! (DIY is about $250)
