This happened to my Maxima, not my 350z, but it happened to a z owner.

My bad luck continues

2 weeks ago, while waiting outside my car to get our parking lot plowed, a coworker backed into the left front fender of my car. Damage wasn't bad, more of an eyesore for me. His vehicle was a new to him 06 CRV. He was backing up, said he didn't see me and hit my car. I was standing next to my car when this happened. Cost to repair $868. I haven't had the time to get the car in to get fixed.

So last night at my Dad's house, I'm parked where I always park. The driveway is fairly long about 100' and it gets narrow, but if one car is tight to one side you can pass a 2nd car through. My step mother bought a Toyota Highlander last year. Just a month a go she backed into someone. Her car has giant windows AND A BACKUP CAMERA. She has always had trouble backing out of the driveway, one more than one occasion she's dropped one tire off and almost rolled down the cliff thats on the left side when backing out. Well last night, she backed into my car. Hood, left front fender, left headlight, and bumper.....smashed. This turned into a huge fight between me vs my father and her. They're both yelling at me saying she couldn't see the car because the floodlight wasn't on. I'm yelling back at them saying she has a back up camera AND if she turned her head or used her mirrors she could have seen the car. This turned into a huge fight between us. She left, then called my dad screaming at him about me, saying she doesn't appreciate me talking to her the way I did. Dad tells me this and I tell him I don't appreciate her backing into my car. He replies well you should apologize to her and I reply with, you should provide me your insurance information.

If you can't see because its too dark, have someone else drive for you. Is that what you're going to tell the cop when you backup and run someone over in parking lot.....it was and I couldn't see so I backed up anyways?????

So I call his insurance this morning, they contact him after and writes and email, Liam, you did not need to call Amica at this time,..you are pushing it Liam,. And I reply with, Pushing it? How else am I going to pay to get my car fixed? Are you going to come out of pocket and pay for it?

I mean seriously, pushing it? What is wrong for me to call his insurance to get my car fixed after your wife backed into it. Its not like I parked the car in the middle of the driveway or drove into her. She backed into me.

I'm so f**kin pissed right now. Yes Marci apologized for it and I accepted her apology, but this all could have been avoided if you turned around and looked or at the least, used your mirrors. On the other hand, if people drove cars instead of these oversized, gas guzzling waste of space, you'd be able to see other cars around you

End rant

its always gonna be a tuff situation when someone you are close with get's into an accident with you because you either have to suck it up to save your relationship or be totally cold hearted and get your stuff fixed.

That sucks dude.

Here's a similar one, but only one car was involved...My dad secretly was driving my Z in early December. He got caught in a little snow squall on the highway, and spun it into a concrete guardrail on the highway. No frame damage luckily, but the bumper covers, front and rear, were scraped and skinned and fairly horrible looking.

One month ago, got her fresh out of the shop, new bumper covers, a shiny, professionally compounded and waxed paint job. Little bonus in the process though - had a Nismo exhaust put on while she was laid-up.

"i'm not mad...I'm just dissappointed." Until that first drive with the new exhaust.

That sucks to hear, when people try and get out of stuff they caused by blaming other factors pisses me off.

You are just getting rid of negative Karma. Hey, at least no one was hurt. Did you ask your Dad again if he was going to pay for it before calling the insurance?

...anyhoo I know why this happened, and I can sum it up into two words- women driver....it's greek for student driver ..j/p

...I hope our resident drift cutie don't see this and sorry to hear about your troubles, everything will be okay

Mike you hit right on the head. She has horrendous driving skills, she has trouble backing out on a normal day. We literally run to the lawn when playing basketball when she's backing out.My Dad called at lunch today and he said I was not happy I called his insurance. My Dad has had a horrible year this year with car insurance. He's been with this company for 25yrs and 0 incidents prior to this year (last year 365days), this is the 5th claim on his policy....brother put a specv up in flames aftre going through a telephone pole(18k), dad rearended a car and caused a 4 car pileup (45k), dad then backed into a pole at a gas station, marci backed in someone at the school she teaches at, now this.

He was upset I went to insurance instead of talking to him. What is talking going to get my car fixed? His insurance came and appraised my car at $2k.
