I will be doing a 5-speed swap in conjunction with my SR swap, if you are interested or located near me, my old motorset will be up for grabs...

How many miles are estimated to be on it? I don't know if it will work . I live in Texas now and I don't know how to change that on my profile.. Stupid profile...

I am not sure I understand why you don't just sell off the drifting parts you have. A used transmission is not that much! For that matter if you had drifting in mind, I would think a 5 speed swap would have been in your plans anyway?

Either way, I wish you the best of luck!

Yes as you can see my plans to make the car were already set and I figured that having the set up that I do would entice people to buy it especially since the transmission needs to be changed out immediately. My problem was after getting my vert, setting it up for drifting, I lost my job a few months afterwords. Then I installed my starter, I just did my wheel bearings on both fronts, added brake pads to them as well, and well now the transmission went. It's my only vehicle so without it running I have no chance at survival. I have all the receipts of all the parts I put into it. Except maybe the subwoofer I also used to have 2 240s just in case my transmission did go I added a brand new transmission to my 90 240sx over the summer to survive. I would've changed out my transmission to the vert but I sold it to a really good friend of mine and the main reason he wanted it was because of the new transmission. I needed the money more then but now I will basically lose my entire investment into my project which totally sucks.

I am in North Carolina, so I guess it won't work like I'd hoped. I didn't even realize you could look at location on profiles. The motorset has 94000 miles on it...it's currently in my car. I'd wager you could get a transmission for cheap for your KA. OR OR OR...you could cut a hole in the floor right in front of the two front seats and go Flinstones! Just kidding...all the best to you and your Vert.

Man now isn't the time for jokes . Well I was given the 2,000.00 price tag to rebuild mine and then I put my car up online and so far sell it for 600 *which doesn't even cover the cost of the wheel bearings I put into it less than 30 days ago* or this unknown dude will rebuild my transmission for 1,100.00 and give me a 12,000 mile warranty. I'm guessing he's a real mechanic but I've yet to meet him...

I have seen used AT from $150.00 to $300.00. Even if you put one in and don't want to keep the car, you would be able to sell it for a lot more then the $600.00 you were offered and the price of the used transmission!

Heck, here is a 5 speed swap for $350.00!http://pittsburgh.craigslist.o....html

It's hard to trust the internet with unsecure sites especially craigslist.. If I get burned my life ends... It's a really hard risk to take.

As for making it manual... I don't even know how to drive a manual yet I was heading in the direction of manual because I lived in a location I could be taught but now I don't live there anymore.

I did find an automatic at the price you listed but now I'm wondering if the guy who is willing to do the work is finding the same and just charging me for the labor... I don't know how to do this... No booklet either. Probably not enough tools either...

changing out a transmission is not a real technical project to take on. If there is not a tutorial on here, I am sure there are many that could walk you through it in posts made in a thread asking for help. With all the Texas members we have, you may even get an offer of in person help?

I hate to see you take a beating on your car when it is not that big a deal to fix it and either drive it or sell it for what its worth.

Well driving it isn't possible because the place I took to have it looked at took it out told me what was wrong with it took 5 days to put it back in and goes oh it doesn't work anymore... So then I flipped out and a few hours later posted here. Since then I've been looking for buyers.

I don't want to lose my car, I've worked too hard and too long on it. I've put a minimum of about 500 hours of my time into fixing it, getting parts, and having friends help me. I don't live near any of them anymore though. I am stuck with what I got which isn't much.

*Texas is a very big state * I live in Houston/Humble area just in case others actually might help.

Dude, man up. Your problems aren't that bad. Find a job or two; take the bus to work and save up some money to get a new trans.

That really sucks dude, I dont know your situation so I wont make any judgements or suggestions^, but keep your head up and hopefully things will work out without having to sell it for dirt cheap, sometimes things just seem rougher than they really are, good luck to you.

I don't even know where a bus stop is, but I know this there is no bus stop anywhere near my house. At least 3 miles and then I'd hope that there is one... I'm going to try to get more information on bus stops today actually. Still though 3 miles is at least an hour walk to and an hour walk from buses are slow as **** and I have no possible job offer at the moment... Still though if I did manage to catch a bus after walking only just 3 miles it would be hell coming back after a full 8-10 hours only to walk another hour back to the house. 2 hours of walking plus work times *without travel time on the bus* is going to be anywhere from 10 hours to 12 hours per day. Not exactly easy to do.

Ok scratch that, I called public transportation the nearest bus stop is 8 miles away. I don't know where that bus runs from or runs to but it's 8 miles away so no bus for me.

Don't get me wrong I do appreciate it but it's not like I can get to Indiana not to mention by the time you responded by transmission was already being rebuilt. Thank you though Sincerely.
