No one has done it for the B16 so be the first!. Yes you have the right idea, however easier said than done.

It is indeed chrome material but the only part that is reflective you can tell it is; do not paint that. In the IS300 example you can clearly see he leaves the reflective area and paints the rest for a tasteful oem look.

@Bolrico, if you're referring to me my header is from Megan Racing, great mod but it's cost a lot of time and money to get it to perform to my standards. I.e. aftermarket cat, re-wiring to prevent SES light. The 10whp I gained wasn't worth the tradeoff IMHO but I still enjoy the car regardless.

Aebstract, I went and measured the intake tube.

I came up with 2.75-2.8x inches. Which my rough math equates to about 70mm or a little lower. This is right in line with my estimate of 68mm for the TB . 4" would be equivalent to just over 100mm which just so you know cars that run 100mm turbo's use 4" intake paths to match the intake turbine. These are 8 sec to low 9 second 1/4 cars with large displacement V8's.

I also will probably purchase one of these strut tower bars, to see if there is a noticeable difference coupled with my suspension mods. I am lower with stiffer spring rates and on sticky tires I should be able to benefit more than the stock car. I have numerous places I can test this out and will give you my opinion. When I'm not lazy enough to spend money lol .

Okay, some updates.. the strut bars will almost certainly be openly for sale, I'll know 100% for sure tomorrow. I'm finding out if my boss wants to be a part of this and help me work on developing parts for my car or not. (Hes big in to drag racing and has an awesome cobra street car) Even if not, I'm making sure I can get the permission to buy my materials through work and whatnot, as I can see this ending up needing more than just a bit of scrap metal. Depending on the response, development should really speed up.

There will most likely be 2 different strut designs, with 2 different prices. As well as a different model for the 2.0L vs the spec v.

I've also gone down and talked to the guy I go to for window tint, and I am 95% sure that I am going to get 5% tint. Should hopefully be by the weekend or next week sometime. Hopefully means I'm waiting on a check to come in the mail

We finished the strut for gray07's silver spec v. I'll put some of the photos that I sent to him up, but don't want to post finished and painted photos until he recieves it and sends me some. (We painted it as a surprise and I hope he loves it!) So, posting painted shots would ruin the surprise! This one had 'triangular' braces as well. I know I originally posted $85/bar, it may rise to 100-120ish, but let me say that we will definitely stay below that 185 for the stillen bar!

Oh.. I'm going to develop an easy to install mod that will get rid of the hood stand, so you can just pop open your hood and it'll stay up. Would anyone be interested in that? I want to keep developing parts for this car (and others), so if anyone has ideas for parts to be made please do let me know!

Aebstract, you should try fitment on a SPEC-V with a cold air intake, The intake tubing might get in the way of the brace.

So far they have all been custom designs, not a standard each time design. If you wanted one for a 2.0 there would be absolutely no problem doing one.

Haha thats exciting. It looks like you did a good job and know what youre doing. The strut bars you are making, do they get in the way if you have a aftermarket intake? because i was planning on geting the fujita one.

Yeah for sure, like I said before: They've all been custom designs so far, and I don't necessarily seeing that changing too much in the next few. If you order one, just let me know what all you got on it, maybe a photo under the hood and you'll be all set

Do you need those made new, or have you already gotten some? Broken parts aren't good Gray07 is the first one that will have one on their car besides me, he should have it tomorrow or wednesday! Lookout for a review.

Hey just an idea...

but since you are making a strut bar, you should try and make sway bars as well to help maximize the potential for B16s :P.

review Fit is right on and the install was inly about 30 minutes long. Everything lines up great with only slight hand capable adjustments needed to create a proper fit (dont tighten anything until all bolts are lined up!!) With K&N intake the top of the heat shield just barly touches and you can hear it shutter a little on startup (solution.. cut the heat shield rubber guard where the bar is!). On the MAF sensor (with k&N) make sure the wire runs under the vacums line as to not let it rub against the bar while driving. The welds look like they will hold for the test of time and the bends are clean with no "over crimping". Again all the bolts lined up with ease. Used all the stock bolts to make the install easy and the supplied bolts for the strut tower install. On road it seams to respond to even slight streeting input. Works great with the Tanabe GF210's I installed last week. Car is definitally flater in the corners and way more feedback in the wheel (IE STIFFER!!). I will get it on some central texas hill country roads on the weekend of the 10th and be at HIN in Dallas on the 16th.

I will get some pics later... I sent a few to Aebstract a little while ago...

Here's one of the photos he sent me that shows most of the bar.

Glad to hear everything went smoothly and results were noticed on the trip home.

I'll be making the b-pillar brace as soon as I figure out a design that I want. This will run from the seatbelt mounts and behind the seats. Reason it is going to take a little while is that I want it to be adjustable. Gonna take a few "swivel" motions and such, but it should be pretty slick when it is all said and done.

Along with that, the rear strut is listed to be built and a sway bar design might actually come about sooner than the b-pillar!

Actually, I have just been looking at some sway bars, and I may go up to the shop today or tomorrow sometime and work on this.

What Nitrous setup are you using..

ZEX NXNOSEct.

I was thinking of getting the zex universal efi and running a 40 shot.

I'm interested in this information, and any nitrous information as I don't know really anything about it. I didn't think our engines would probably be able to handle it (though like I said, I've never read in to nitrous at all).

well i actually peiced together a kit ... ZEX sucks ... the little box is a pain in the a** ... especially with our cars i have a zex purge and NOS solenoids and a ZEX bottle so i mean everything is different .. but i was on a wet 75 shot for about a year and a half and then i jumped to the 100 shot and snapped that motor mount in half so lol .. but on the 100 shot its at a 11.2-11.6 air fuel witch is pretty much perfect on the bottle .. so its pretty nice
