Well yesterday was my first day of autocrossing and i think i did ok cause it was my second time doing it. And well i wanted to see if i could do a little better and see if i could slide my car around some of the corners. So when i was done with my second run and my final and last run came up thats when i decided to say the hell with it lets do some drifting. Everything went pretty well and as tve event was over I over heard some people talk some mess about me saying that drifting was a thing of the past and that i was trying to show off and that next event some people were going to try and talk to tve host of the event to try and not let me back in cause of my "stupid driving". And I was just wondering if i did anything bad to upset that little honda/ford/subaru community that i was in. Or is it illegal to do that in a autocross event. I talked to one of the time keepers and he said as long i was pretty carefull on what i was doing and passed the safety check tven i can compete in the next autocross event. I mean has anyone ever had that happen to them?

The problem with sustained drifting on an autocross course is that it "polishes" the road surface making it more slick and inconsistent for the drivers after you. Depending on the owner of the lot, they might not appreciate their customers slip-sliding around after an event.

The tire rack only ran one season of drifting on their course due to the damage it was doing to the track. That track existed solely for the purpose of testing tires. From what I understand it had to be completely resurfaced after that season, and future autocrosses for everyone were severely limited.

They might not have explained it up front this time but in the future if they state no drifting on course, they have the right to kick you out. Better to loose one person than a whole autocross site. Keep the drifting to http://www.driftday.com/

djspecter take your off topic threads to the proper forum. this should be in the drifting/motorsport forum and most of the others ive seen you post here should be in 240sx gen chat.
