Its great having a 5-speed now. I hated driving auto it was like you had no control over the car and i hated every day of driving auto. I ran short of time and it was too late so i used the presure plate out of the junk yard transmission. The clutch slips a little but, who cares its a stick and i don't have enough cash for a kevlar clutch. The swap was easier than i expected it to be. i just put regualar 80-90w gear oil in the transmission for now, what kind of oil should i put in the transmission? Nick

i was told Redline MT90 would be best, but if that is hard top get as most auto stores do not carry it, get Mobil 1 75W-90, or any brand with that level. Should be good with the KA transmission Redline would be my best choice but whatever....

How much did that conversion cost? Because I want to change mine to a manual before I do my engine swap.

i got all the parts from the junkyard for 350. I sold my auto for 150. So it cost 200 in the end. Also, you don't need the brake petal, just get the rubber part off another clutch petal or manual brake petal. Then cut off the petal to fit the rubber petal cover. Nick

currently i spliced the wired to bypass the neutral saftey switch together. i currently don't have a wiring harness to my transmission. I don't have reverse lights or cruise control. But i'm currently working on that now. But its hard to find time to work on my car between school and work.

Also, I didn't torque the flywheel bolts down. I just used an impact gun and went a round and tightened the bolt several times. So, today my flywheel started to loosen and i could here it so now i have to pull the transmission and tighten them. I guess i have the money now from selling my transmission. I'm going to lighten the flywheel, put in a Kevlar clutch, and put lock-tight and torque down the flywheel bolts. It just pisses me of that i have to take off the transmission when i have no time to do it. Nick

Maybe you guys could answer my question. I bought a KA24e that had an auto and I am putting it in my car with a manual. The problem is how do I remove the torque converter from the engine with the auto to hook up to my manual? Thanks
