my antenna makes noise on 95 maxima

Hi I'm new and i have a 95 maxima and sometimes the antenna makes a grinding sound when it goes in so i was wondering is there a special kind of grease i can put on it so it won't make that noise anymore. THANKS.

Try some white lithium grease.

Grinding = Gears are shot. There is a notched out piece of plastic that goes inside the entire length of the antenna. In the gearbox (curcular thing at the bottom of the antanna inside the trunk) with a gear that pushes the notched plastic wire upwards. If the plastic part or the gear in the base is broken, it will grind.
