I'm new here and I wasn't quite sure where to post this. Sorry if this is the wrong forum.
Ok, my antenna on my 240sx is stuck because it got bent. So I decided to replace it. I got a mast and opened up to the compartment where the antenna is. I see the engine, metal housing the antenna sits in and a screw going through the housing into what I think is the antenna. I googled and found that I should unscrew this bolt and turn on the car so the antenna goes up and then just take out the antenna. Well, I wait until the motor stops pushing upwards then I start to pull a little and it won't budge. So I go look at it again to see if there is anything I missed. And there isn't, it should just be coming up.
Well, I kind of repeated this process a few times with no success. One of the times when I pulled the top of the antenna, at the bend, the metal broke and the plastic piece came out. So, how do I get this antenna out so I can put my brand new mast in there? And, once I get it out, should I add grease or oil to the antenna motor because when that little piece of the plastic part came out it was drenched in black oil/grease.
As you would have guessed I'm not that experienced with cars and I was dumb enough to think I could do this myself. Thank you for your help in advance.
