I wanted to use up my free dumb question before the year ended:

I have recently replaced EBC "Redstuff" brake pads on the front of my 07 G35X, is there any reason why I couldn't or shouldn't put the EBC Green on the rear? This is the first car I ever owned where the front and rear brake pads wore evenly. Bottom line is I'm trying to save $20.

So...they're wearing evenly because of the fact that you have already changed them out? Or, they are wearing evenly b/c of some other factor? Not that it matters....since a rant is coming...

By all means, save $20. What could it hurt? it's only a technically engineered piece of machinery that has been researched, tested, and tested again (and again)...

The green brakes are for smaller and less powerful cars...and since you don't own a Honda (well, at least one that needs brakes)...I wouldn't.

The EBC website, which I believe more people than me can navigate to, specifically say that the green pads are for the types of vehicles that Infiniti's are not. I would rather have brakes on my car that give as high performance as (and, with the good graces of engineers the world over) as little dust as possible.

Isn't that the reason you got a 'G' in the first place? - Performance!

I know when the time comes to replace my brakes, I won't worry about saving 20 damn dollars! Now, if you really want to save money, you'll trade in your G for a prius! Go on, get!

How much are you paying for your pads? I've been running Posi Quiet ($90 for the set) pads for a little while. They are decent. My next pads are going to be the Hawk HPS ($130) or possibly the Project Mu ($200). My friend swears by the Project Mu (I think he has the NS).

VERB - Pronoun It's a lease and every other vehicle, yes performance vehicles too, I've owned have gone through two sets of front pads to every set of rear. That's the way the brake bias was configured and the reason why most cars front discs are larger than the rear. This car obviously hasmore of an equal bias, front and rear. My lease is up in a few months and why spend the monies for someone else to use? Besides, I'm obviously not a race car driver!
