So last friday I raced my friend in the track who has a mustang, and I have a altima coupe 2.5s MT, and needless to say I lost by only 0.2s in the 1/8th of a mile drag. Wondering what you guys think for my first time drag racing, btw he had an exhaust and intake. My car is completely stock. Would post video but don't know how to..

Yea I know, also my tires were very worn out, so I'm confident I could easily beat him with some performance tires, exhaust, and just a intake. When I have some time, I'll post the video.

Adding an intake, header, exhaust set-up will aide to a minor degree. If you'll be content with pepping your car up a just tad bit. However, if you want to add measurable power to your car. The best method would be some sort of forced induction set-up. But that'll be really expensive.

Yea I know a exhaust, intake, and header will give a minor increase of hp, but I'm guessing with those three maybe a total of 25 hp? Or 30? And any force induction mod will be later in the future when I have more money, and how much of difference will a bulldy dog gt tuner do? Horsepower wise?

With those three you'll probably get about 2-3 hp

So basically all that money spent would be worthless hp wise just a better sounding exhaust

It's been forever since I've been on this forum!!

And I'm here to help.
I totaled my Altima Coupe about a year ago and I got something I always wanted in my Altima.....

TURBO!!

But now I own an OPTIMA 2.0T and that thing is fun to drive but I still miss the coupe :/

Some help I can lend from the 2.4 and 2.0T motors is that some of the guys do dyno their cars before and after parts and sorry to burst your bubbles but a lot of these small upgrades won't do as much as you think or is advertised.
If you're looking for something that will make a good dent, then a custom tune is the way to go..... or turbo..... OR BOTH.

These days the ECU doesn't necessarily adjust for your aftermarket parts so consider them for looks and sound. Now I'm not 100% on this but they have dyno'd a turbo Optima with intake, exhaust, intercooler and didn't give amazing increase in HP.
Now doesn't mean you don't FEEL it. Your turbo might spool up a bit faster or work more efficiently which increases acceleration and spool time but it won't give you more HP.

As soon as I grabbed a tuner and installed it, man could I tell a difference right away! My car would break traction even rolling in second gear. But for an N/A car don't expect the 40+ hp from a 93 octane tune but realistically I would say max 15 horsies but you will deff tell the difference!
