My alarm is stuck on

My car is used and only came with the key to start it and not a keyless remote. Yesterday I locked the door with the key and when I went to open it the alarm went off! I pulled out the 75 amp main fuse and was able the start the car and drive it home (albeit with no lights or indicators).

I see on ebay I can get a used remote for the j30 and should be able to program it to my car, is this correct?

I have unhooked the main battery since I'm out for the day in the hopes the alarm will "forget" that I set it off and the drain in the car's circuits will cancel the alarm until I can get that key from eBay.

Is disconnecting the battery going to work? I read something else about grounding an orange wire under the drivers dash.

Turn key in either drivers door, or passengers door outside key lock to disable

Same thing happened to me when I bought my used j30. I unlocked my passenger side the opened it and the alarm went off. So I walked to the driver side and unlocked it and the alarm turned off. Ii is also a good idea to get a remote so I bought one off eBay and it works fine.
