The airbag light is blinking, and on the Nav Screen, I also have a warning saying that the SRS airbag needs to be checked.

Has anyone experienced? I am wondering if this is just a "timer" that has come on as I approached 80K, or if something is really wrong?

I can take to the steelership if I have to, but I'd like to know what others have experienced before I do so.

Thanks for any info you can supply.

Did you do anything to the car recently? Below are the instructions on how to reset the SRS light. If it comes back on I would get it checked out.

1. Turn key on.2. Once airbag light has displayed for 7 seconds, turn key off within 1 second.3. Wait more than 3 seconds4. Repeat 1, 2 and 3 two more times (three on/off cycles total)5. Turn key to on - this puts the system in diagostic mode.

Notes - the 7 second delay corresponds to the normal on-time of the airbag lights. Just switch the key off as soon as they go out - wait at least 3 seconds, then repeat the cycle.

There are a series of flashes that will indicate the source of the malfunction, but in my case, I really didn't care about the flashes, as I was the cause of the malfunction by disconnecting/reconnecting the passenger airbag.

Once you're in diagnostic mode, resetting the light will occur once you turn the key off, wait a few seconds, and turn it back on again - this puts it back in "user" mode.

The airbag light blinks when a fault is detected. It could be something serious, so dont take it lightly. Unless its a pretensioner issue, the airbags wont go off in a collision, making a crash riskier. Get it checked out.
