Thanks again for all the responses. I've been pretty busy this week with work, but I did get a chance to get under my 240 and check out the frame. It's rusted near the passenger side front wheel. If anyone's ever heard of Browning's Auto Body in Manassas, I'm thinking about taking it there for an estimate. They've been in working on cars for over 20 years. I'll let you know what happens.

Vegeta, I am also a proud original owner of a 1989, my clutch also gave out last year, total cost of repairs : $150.00 dollars.Did it myself. Man, you gotta keep that car, if you are having problems with the car now maybe you have been skipping on the maintenance all these years:thinker Is time to put some money on your ride, 240 are big on the scene and are to become a nissan classic. You are about to get rape (I mean that respecfully...)by the nissan mechanics, what you do go to different mechanics or friends and get your hands dirty. Struts, clutch, etc are not a major operation. Get the FSM, newsgroups like this one, etc are great sources of information and will help you handle some of these issues and save money....

Good luck!!

Post more pics when you get a chance....:pface

Well, that mechanic has helped me a lot throught the years, but now he's getting funny. Guess it's time to look for a new mechanic. I've always gotten the oil changed every 3 months, got a tune up once a year, and washed and waxed it a often as possible. Guess I just neglected other things. Never joined a car club until this past year. I should have done this a long time ago.

Post more pics...ubet!

:ylsuper Got my 240 inspected today. Passed!

The clutch is good now. I fed it some oil and gas treatment and cleaned it up. Feels good again to drive it.

2k for a clutch? start going someplace else. you got completely OWNED by nissan. a full clutch kit, along with labor should be absolutely no more than $600.

and what did it pass? i don't think you said anything about emissions. almost ALL 240s have rust here and there and they have occasional probs. but it is VERY cheap to fix. that nissan dealership is completely ripping you off.

mynismo, dude you're car looks just like mine, except you replaced the pastic bumber. Looks great! I need to do that to mine. It's getting sun-bleached. There's some really nice 240s on this forum. Makes me feel behind.

Yeah, I know what you're saying. I had Nissan fix the clutch because my old mechanic couldn't get it right. He charged me about $300 to fix it when it first gave out. It held for about a week. He adjusted it again for free. It lasted a week. Next, he said my clutch was unusual and he had to order some more parts. He charged me about $700. It lasted a week. That's when I took it to Nissan. They charged me almost $400, but the clutch is solid now. Nissan told me it needed a whole bunch of work before it would pass inspection. I told the mechanic to just fix the clutch and let me worry about the rest. He understood. Without any further work, I took it to Amoco and they passed it. No questions asked. Go figure. Anyway, I'm happy to be able to legally drive it now. I want to save up some cash and gradually fix it up good. Thanks for replying to my post.

I meant plastic bumper in my last post. It's Saturday night and I've had "a couple" of beers.

Hey Geo, I checked out your pics on cardomain.com. I love your seats. Was that hard to do?
