well ill post pic up in a while but i did a rebuild on my ca after my head gasket sprung a leak , i leaned alot form working on the motor even my cousin he has a ka24de in his 240sx. but we both learned alot its an remarkable motor. well first off the motor wasnt in bad shape pretty clean the head had normal wear and tear on it but not to bad it cost me about 300 bills to get some head work done , i give aslot of props to the shop . a little reminder people know ur shop just to ensure there gonna do a good job.

what i had done 1. same valves money was low .

2.reseated the valves new oil seals .

3. had the block milled and planed (was slightly warped )

4. installed all nessasary seals and gaskets .

5 removed the butterfly system and all useless vaccum lines and set ups .

6. also i cleaned out my intake plennum(manifold there is alot of gunk build up in there)

the aftermath

i feel alot of throttle response alot more than before before the mild rebuild , smoothe acceleration to the top not jerky like before. well this isnt alot but its something to encourage more ca fam to take interest and care in their motors.( my cousin is even considering about buying and ca motorset sooo boost boy im gonna hit u up as soon as hes through....

awesome. i noticed my engine was a lot smoother after removing all the butterfly junk too. no torque adding gimmicks, just smooth high-rpm power delivery. torque is for engines with over 2l of displacement anyway. my head goes to the machine shop next week for the same stuff. ive got to make some serious money soon because if theres any time i should be doing stuff to the head, its right now.

CAs (and RBs and VGs) have issues with headgaskets. I too have blown one. With the head off, why not do all that fun stuff?

I too want to ditch the butterfly crap. I did it to my FC3S, and there was no noticable change in low down torque, but the top end was so much smoother. And on a rotary, top end is everything.

the head job i can say is a good way man its alot better . ok picture yourself getting one from a chick .... fun stuff right thats the same way the motor feels, when i got my motorset i wanted to rebuild the head and other antics but i decided to wait until the gasket had its last breath of life . then i wanted to get some head work done its a good reliable job that way u can feel comftable about your motor..

I had some work done to my head and currently trying to setup my butterfly system or NICS as nissan likes to call it to work correctly as it was originally intended. It'll be good to see how this system works and affects the driveability of the car!
