He could have a seal leak on the compressor so the leak could require replacement. However if the car had been sitting it is not unheard of for a compressor seal to allow a leak and then be able to seal when the system is refilled after bleeding and placed in service.Tampa G35 Sedan 6MT wrote:The first think I would do is go to a auto parts shop and purchase a can of freon and fill up your system. it will work for a little and if it stops being cold. You will know that you have a leak.
If it stays cold... then you fixed the problem! But some shops will tell you that you need a lot of stuff when you might just have a leak. if it gets cool for a little you will know that the compressor is still working. so don't let them tell you that you need a new one!

I dont' know how the compressor is configured but every time my Dad would work on a/c compressors he always made the move to replace the seals. I would consider doing this depending on how the Infiniti compressor is configured since it is easier off the car than on and it is not unusual for a leak at this location on compressors out of use for awhile.donkim1 wrote:so i found out that my compressor is broke and i need to replace it. i'm broke so i'm buying the part used, do i have to replace it with a 2003 compressor or can i use other years?
i'd appreciate any response
i have a guy, who i really really trust with my car, who says that i have to have my compressor changed out, no if an or buts, and told me that since my car already has some 75k miles on it, it'd be alot cheaper and just as good, as getting a used one. i've found some compressors from '04-'06 models that are cheaper than alot of the '03 ones i've seen. these are all salvaged parts but i don't wanna buy unless i know its gonna workpfarmer wrote:
