Hello fellow Nico Fans. Long time reader, but just joined a few months ago. I had a 2003 350Z http://www.cardomain.com/ride/3818088/2003-nissan-350z I traded that for a 2009 A/C 3.5 SE. Been working on that for the last year and I was thinking of entering into the 2011 Carlisle Performance & Style Invitational under the “Nissan Other” category, this coming May 14th-15th. I have already seen some of the posts so I know there will be other fellow Nico-Freaks in attendance. :dblthumb: This will be my first time and so my question for all of you who read this is:

What is the competition like? As in, is this more like a regional level crowd, or am I going to have my daily driver parked in the middle of the demo cars of RedBull and Greddy, and people think I'm parked in the wrong area?

Cars not stock, but its not centerfold ImportTuner mag material. I got most of the same bolt on mods most of you have. I'm an avid forum reader and rely on you guys to be me my test dummy's before I go and buy it!

So tell me what you think, or know, or think you know, and how many of you awesome Nico types are going to enter or watch.

Thanks.

I'll be there and entered. Last year, NICO was the 3rd largest organized group in attendance. You won't look out of place, there will be plenty of Altima Coupes. Rock some nice wheels and a nice drop and you'll fit in more than you know.

As you can see in the backgrounds I'm in the boonies. In all the pics you see only 1 lil red car. Everyone has old jacked-up ford pickups, they all just stare at me like im an alien driving by... :poke: I usualy work like a dog in the summer and dont make it to shows, but I thought I would give it a shot.

I'm in the Woodbridge/Lorton area. I know where Culpepper is. I think your car looks great; you'll fit in fine.

Yep there motegi rims. There in great condition and wraped in Nitto NeoGens and I paid $400 for 4 wheels and tires balencedand mounted on the rims. Would you have said no?
lecros101 wrote:That looks great. is your overlay on the trunk peeling up?

Um...I hope not! There is no overlay on the trunk :naughty: That is the AIT Carbon Fiber Trunk with built in spoiler. I had the bottom half and some of the sides painted silver just like the CF hood, to follow the body lines and not the body parts like most do. (Another idea I got from nico people) The only over lay is the roof, its 3M Di-Noc Carbon Fiber Vynil and I like the way it works with the hood and trunk, It's like having a Carbon Fiber MowHawk.

I know some of you dont like the front that i used. I dont want to be EXACTLY like all the A/Cs out there. in 2009 there were no A/C in my county. Now there are like 10 of them :nono: Now i have the only modded A/C in my area. I DO LIKE THE STILLIN Front bumpers! But just too many of you Nico-Monsters have it already. So i chose a different path. Im happy with it and it looks better in person, sorry about the crumby pics, going out of town for X-Mas.

Looks awsome dude I really like it and agree with brian s*** looks clean. Although if I were u I mean u do have the gtr front end why not do the rear tails and headlights. If you need help doin the headlights I can show you what I did. I tinted the top half like the gtr style. It'll look awsome with ur paintjob rather than the eyelids. Idk why but I hate the eyelids.

Oh and if ur entering don't feel bad its really competitive at that show ull have me darryl and dreed matt lbc and brian and we are like the more "serious" show competitors. Some of us "mysekf matt and lbc" will also be doing auto x so deff a lot of fun. Also in case you didn't know this is pretty much a giant weekend of fun we party fri and sat night and go to the show/track sat and sunday. So be prepared to join the party at the hotel/bar/fridays lol

The eyelids are here to stay, you wouldn't belive what I went through to get them on the damn car  and I like the way the running light, lights the whole lens up at night. The eyelids will get me to when I have the headlight conversion done, I saw the Custom Double Projecters on here and I'm not too shy to tell you I got an erectlon. It was so beautiful. I dont think I will have them in time for the show  I will have the LBC tails with the reverse cut-out by the show and some other things im working on.

i personally find nothing wrong with your front.
its def. not something most ppl have.

u got fogs?
the fog's housing seems to be hidden with the way the front bumper is made.
but, whoever said that was a bad thing?

At first I was going to have them mod the OEM fogs into the outside ports, I ended up going with a set of Hella's. I also decided to hide them behind the screen mesh for a hidden look. You cant really see it too well in the pics.

Yea, I like the LBC with the Reverse-cut-out. I looked at the LED clear/black and smoke/silver tail lights but im on the fence, any input as for like/dislike, overlay/LED, LED AND Overlay?

If you plan on keeping your wheels, I suggest getting spacers. Other than that, looks good except the front bumper.

+1
or get coils, and then you wont need those spacers as bad after you slam it and camber out :dblthumb:
although if you only have the 18's, forget what i said and get spacers. the offset on the 18's are +42, i have the 20's which are +30 which sit nicely after the drop

Thanks for the ups and the input :) Im back from X-Mas. 1,800 miles through a Blizzard. I now have to take the car back in and have them repaint the front bumper. I tailgate too much. The bumper now has a million chips and feels like sand paper.  :ohno: :bs: :nono:

The rims are 20's but im selling them to my neighbor and going a drifferent route. I was on the fence about the GT-R bumper too, but too many had the Stillen. So I took a shot. IMHO it actualy turned out fantasic!. Pictures dont do it justice. Im not sure if any of you have seen the GT-R setup in person or not, but for some reason it never looks quite right in the pictures.

Does anyone have the link for the Nico-Group-Buy for Carlisle(for spectators AND/OR competitors)? And are all of the Nico-Nuts stay'n at the same Hotel...and are we try'n to work a nico-group-buy on that? :woot:

star2nv and imdavit Turn off your PM block so you can get mail.

quote="star2nv"]what was the quality of the front bumper.thinking of doing that bumper.did it bolt up or was there moding you had to do.do you have any pictures of the install?
thanks bill[/quote]

Actually, my body guy said it was one of the easiest ones he had to put on. Very very little prep work, line it up, drill some holes, and BAM you got it :) AIT makes a decent product as far as i can tell. I got the whole kit, with the IMP sides and rear. He had a little trouble with the sides. There didt seem to be much to attach to the car with and he ended up putting a rivit about upper mid way to make 100% sure there would be no issues with flexing. Looks great, but if i have to get the side skirts repainted it might be a mess. Its ok though, skirts are cheap. Hope this helps :)

You can see in the test fit that it really needed no sanding or cutting or building up. It just plain fit. :gotme
