WTF Mate? Anyone having a prob with their hood getting dinged all to hell?

Not sure if my paint is half assed on my hood, but it seems anything in the air will chip it. I never tail semi's or tail gaitat all for that matter. I stay on city/highway roads, yet I have 6 small chips in a month time frame. I was given free touch up paint from my dealership, but I'm not sure I want to repaint it one drop at a time. lol Seriously what the hell?

Other than that I still <3 my coupe. late

Welcome to the wonderful world of environmentally friendly paint.

Get the chips touched up and then get a clear bra.

Black will do this to you as well. Good luck. Hard to prevent except for the bra.

It's ok. Just try to live with it for as long as possible and then get touch up paint later on.

I am having the same probably with my hood chipping way too easily. There was a bunch of freezing rain and ice on trees and while I was driving around the other day some ice/snow stuff fell from a tree and chipped my hood. Its not like it was that much either. . . .oh well

Like I said before, touch up paint will do the trick. There's nothing you can do about the quality of the paint that's on your car, short of repainting the entire thing. We had bad winds here a while back and flying rocks/branches scratched my hood.

I agree....I have a few small chips...now and then there will just be a new one...out of no where.....so disappointed....I'm planning to keep the car for about 5 years...what the hell is gonna become of it then and i haven't even had it for a year yet!!!!

I agree with the others who have recommended the clear bra. I think this is the only way you will protect your hood. My car is a 2003 and has a clear bra - so the paint underneath is untouched.

You can go without the bra and then get the hood repainted - but it will still be unprotected - and may raise a red flag if you sell it and the potential determines that the hood was painted. This is sometimes real easy to tell since all the other adjacent body panels will be old paint.

For the record I don't think the paint on my G is any thicker than what's on the altima- very thin paint. The car I had before this was a Lexus - I believe they use 5 layers of paint/clear coat. Big difference

Qualified and affordable - yeah the bras sure aren't cheap. I can see where the dilema is - the clear bras sometimes costs as much as repainting the hood.

I rather not go wit the bra....when u take it off one day, the part that was covered will nice, bright, and fresh paint while the rest of the car is faded...ill stick to gettin just the front bumper repainted if it ever comes down to that instead. More-over I rather not have film thats going to yellow over time with UV damage.
