Hello Im from San Diego ca, Im a 240sx enthusiasts and am having some troubling times with my s14. First the waterpump gave out and was seized, I fixed that and then it died. It was the alternator and I fixed that now, when I took it for a drive my gauge cluster wasnt working and neither do my lights, but bulbs r fine. ONLY HIGH BEAMS WORK!!! then power started to give out and when I turned lights off it got a jolt of power, but felt like it wasnt getting fuel and I had to run red lights to make it home! Took the battery TWICE to autozone as it is a Duralast and they charged it and said its fine. Ive checked the fuses and they seem fine in the engine bay, but I do have a aftermarket alarm, and theres a s*** ton of more fuses underneath my dash on drivers side. And if this helps I do have a computer conversion with a jumper harness... I dont want to take my car to a specialist and get owned nor do I have the money to tow it there. Anyone can help?? :tisk:

Check your alternator fuse for your non working luster and lights! But other than that how do your plugs look?? Oh and the fuel pump fuse check that too!

I had a similar problem on my 1995 S14. On the original positive battery cable there is the ring that connects to the battery post and two single-blade plugs that plug into the side of the terminal. These go to the under-hood fuse box. Un-plug, clean and re-plug these in. Make sure they are fully seated. I had the same intermittent shut-off/dimming lights/etc problem on mine. The only way I found it was when one of those plugs got so hot they melted and shut down everything.
I ended up stripping the split-loom off the wires, clipping the factory plugs, and crimping on some big ring terminals, then securing those under the nut on the battery terminal bolt. Good luck sorting it out!
