Here are my lame numbers done at the 370Z Rally on the Valvoline mobile Dynojet. The first pic is of the corrected run, the second is uncorrected. Let me know what you think.

Lower than I would have expected ... is your car running normally? Hmmm ...

According to Consult the Q is running great. No CEL, all parameters are fine, emissions test was flawless. Either one of two things are off: the Dyno or the JWT ECU. The guy running the dyno was interested as to what mods I had done. I told him that the muffler and resonators had been changed and a JWT ECU had been installed. He felt that the ECU was a great add on; mainly because all three runs were really close versus going up or down in HP. He said most runs done with bolt-ons and no ECU vary each run. So, that was good to know.

Now the other thing that intrigues me is Ben (nismo1219) had his Maxima run too. He has a 99 with all of the same mods that I had on my 95 Maxima. His pulled a 146-150. Mine (on a stationary dyno) pulled 168. 18 HP lower seems a little off to me.

Can you put the stock ECU back in your Q and run it again? Stock should be 220-225HP.....maybe your custom ECU is not working as advertised?

Amazing how much power was lost in 15+/- years, I am going from 300 HP and Torque.

And your Q is restored to factory like you said besides the obvious modifictations?

I can't run it again because it was a mobile dyno at the 370Z Rally on 12/04. Here's the JWT ECU that I have. It came with the car when I got it from Keith (REX) last year.

Every thing is normal that I know of, and my mech ran a diagnostic using consult and everything is normal.

JWT ECU in 3rd should be pulling about 234 HP, but no RPM axis? No torque? Difficult to say since it can't be semi-bench marked against another car with another dynamometer result.

Funny tires, air filter?

Great question. Was the run done with the 3rd manually selected?

The only thing that "might" need updating is the knocks ... wonder if the cats are getting old/clogged, but you said it passed emissions cleanly??

When driving, does ti still pull like a Q from 4k and up?

The TQ #'s would have helped a lot. Know why he didn't hook up a tach wire? Any idea what the AFR's are like? It looks like it's got a dead spot from 105-115mph. What gear was the pull made in? These numbers do seem low, but it's hard to tell why with out more information. It might be worth your trouble to get a baseline from a local shop. Just make sure that it's based on RPM, not speed (they'll have to hook up a tach signal pickup) and if they ask you, tell them you want the AFR's logged as well.

Well, it's kind of hard to tell from the video that they gave me. It seems as though they did a 4th gear pull. I tried to post the video on photobucket, but it came on a DVD in .IFO format, so no luck there.

It still pulls hard and feels more powerful no than when I got it last year. The tires are 245/45's, less than 2000 miles on them. They are not the best brand on the market, Nankang.

I feel that the mobile dyno is a little off. The rollers are half the size of a stationary dyno, they were not hooked up to my ignition coil (they said they could not get a good reading from it because of the location of the coil), and their air fuel portion of the dyno was down.

Difficult to compare with the larger tires, but do some timed runs like Q45tech has done.

Could be fuel quality also. Ethanol?

Testing on small drums in 4th is Bogus.

Yea, I wonder why the 4th gear pull? Isn't that overdrive? If so, that alone would explain the low numbers.

What I don't get is why they have to dyno it?

Plus you could have just disconected the TCU to force it to stay in 3rd gear.

But see if you can upload the video.

Don't be bothered with these numbers if this is a 4th gear run ... it should have "peaked" again after 110-115, but that would have required it stay in 3rd gear.

yeah if they didnt do 3rd gear dont pay too much attention to it.

REMEMBER also dyno numbers are useless by themselves, they are only good for comparison when adding or changing things to see HP CHANGE.

Just like most things mathematical/engineering related, dont really care about actual numbers, but the changes therein.
