That is a bit excessive. I wish it was mine.

isnt it true that if your intercooler is too big then itll slow the car down.

It won't slow the car down.... it may increase turbo lag, but once the boost hits it keeps on going.

it actually won't increase turbo lag either...those are just rumors and "logical" assumptions....

That debate is a whole can o' worms :)

A big FMIC will not make your car "slower", but instead increase the volume of piping/manifold which is being pressurized by the turbine, theoretically hindering the spool up time and overall peak boost. This increase in volume and decrease in boost is known as "Pressure Drop".

but surely the extra volume is negligible...I mean I read somewhere that 3 feet of straight piping would spool up but .1 second or something like that...it was in a thead about that rear mounted camaro turbo kit.

Thats why you run your boost control vac signal from the intake manifold. SO you get what boost the manifold see's not what the turbo is actually putting out.

Correct. But the peak boost you will hit will be less (not by more than a pound or two) than it was before install of monster FMIC.

how do you figure that? the pressure drop will increase but as long as you are taking your boost signal from the manifold the turbo will boost what you want the engine to see.

bigger intercooler will make the car slower its simple becoz if its bigger, its heavier.... DUH!

J/K I have no idea lol just felt like saying that

are you gonna cut the bumper support because it seems that your wasting alot of area on the intercooler by hiding it behind it..i dont know i wouldnt want to pay for something and not be able to use but half of it..

Just FYI. My NPR cooler is half hidden behind the bumper support but it still cools very well. I know it would cool better if it wasn't but then the bumper would be in the way. Once I have some spare cash I'll have a new bumper made with better air flow and see what to do about the support, but I'm still very cautious about cutting or removing it completely. The support could save my engine (not to mention my life) in the event of a crash.
