Looks like she's gonna need some work.

Better allow $4-5k just for starters.

What's up w/ the silver spraypaint?

As you may know from the thousands of previous posts, '90 thru '92 Q's need new chainguides. Better get it checked out, unless you plan on spending major money to fix it.

And when I crank it up OMG sounds like sex lol I'll keep yall informed..

It appears your infiniti badge on the inlet manifold is up-side-down.

And the wheels.... hmmm I don't know.... I like them, but I don't....They would be AWESOME if they had some lip like 2-3 inches.... then they would be the sechs!!!

Do the tyres/wheels protrude from the guards? Looks like a close call from the pics...

But you ask plenty of questions, so I am sure you will do all the right things to keep your Q in good running order for many years to come.

Thanks for the pics!

PS: The knocking sound.... is it a knocking/clatter type sound? If so, like I told you before, it would be timing chain guides! PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE fix them ASAP! This is not a way to get you to waste your money, only to save you an engine rebuild/ replacement, which is WAY more expensive. We are here to help you with the job.... as much as we can anyway.... just order the parts.... soon!

The knocking sounds like its coming from around the driver side firewall like right in front of the window. My friend said he thinks its a valve prob but idk.. He said it might be better to buy I new engie (rebuilt) like one from ebay I might have to do that but what do you guys think I love my Q and Ill die for this ISH....LMAO (FRIDAY AFTER NEXT DAY DAY)

You are right first things is that tune up. And that chain guide is just as important to put as first things too. So 2 first things is to get a dam good tune up and do chain guides. Tune Up should also include injectors. Dont let noone tell u injectors and sparkplugs dont reallly need checking. They Lie!!!! Also being that you just got this car, Id recommend (opinion) for you to run a bottle of BG44k if you are not about to do these things imediately. Because you dont know what type of gas this person was using.

Those rims are ok.. But the tires make em look ugly to me. What size are they 235-35-18? But a lip would look better. IMO

Maybe he installed it from the front seat after the spray paint dried.

Do you mind telling us how much you spent on your Q? Did you replace all those things yourself or did you take it to a shop?

I've taken the Q to a shop only twice(JDM transmission, driveshaft and something else I didn't feel like doing which I can't remember) and everything else I have done. I've figured I spent over $10,000 on "The Big Sexy" (parts, labor and buying price) and would have spent much more had I taken it to a shop to have all that work done. I figure I should pay myself about $3500 for all that labor if not more! It pays to DIY!!

I don't know 100%, but I don't think so....

If you get a JDM trans, you will need to get the center console, as the angles of the panelling are opposite to the US models, and the shifter gate is opposite too. (The 1-2 shift on my car is from left to right, where as yours is right to left)

It looks like an alarm is in that car. Hope u have the thing to disable it... otherwise immediately take taht thing off before it locks u out one day. If the light stays on without blinking, that means it is on valet mode which means it wont engage. ANd i would still take the thing off. I dont know much more to tell u but take it off, because you dont know who installed that brain and /or if brain is corrupted. Just being carefull is the key.

What can happen if you dont take it off. Well what happens is one day, your working on the inside of car and you see some stupid lil switch and you flick it like 1,2,3 times and nothing happens. So you move along. Finish working leave the car. Come back the next day to go to work . Unlock car and (WHAAAAAA) sounds like police. alarm is going off.. What the hell made this stupid alarm to go off?

The JDM transmission bolts right in with no mods needed at all. MY JDM transmission fit right in and I did not have to get another center console. The JDM motor does not need the JDM transmission and vice versa. If you get a JDM motor you should at least look for a JDM transmission, but you don't have to.

Q45's can and will eat up alot of money.

But that all depends on if you want/need the car for 1 year or want/need the car for much more.

Ive bought plenty of cars that I only drove for a year or so and didnt really care 2 cents for.

Do you drive alot of miles per year? Have any other transportation?

I bought a beater 1990 accord directly after purchasing my Q, so I could spend little here and there on replacing parts on the Q, without giving it daily abuse. (only saw 2300 miles last year )

If you go cheap on it, it'll provide more headaches in the future.

How bad is your engine now? I read you said it knocks, but have you changed oil and all other fluids, plugs and such?

Ill shutup im starting to ramble

No your not rambling your just stating truth I like that but Im was deff thinging on geting the 18" chrome Infiniti rims. But the part about the knocking its very . Its like when the car is on and Im driving it for a while the sound will like go away. But this this moring when I cranked the car "tatatatat" WTF well I dont know. But to answer the have I changed anything on the car is no not at this time. I do need to change the break pads and such its telling me to on the left of in the dash. And also it looks like the Gas gage is broke I put $18 in the tank and it didnt even move and can someone take a pic of the gas light when its on cuz I dont want to be driving and no light comes and then I break down LOL. And the light that says break like when the E-Break is on it stays on. (Could that be cause of I might need new breaks to ???) I am going to goto "Just Breaks" to get them fix IDK if yall know of this place (Im in Florida) there song is "At JUST BREAKS we really do care....) so what do yall think about my long A$$ story???

that noise could be pistons.. If in the morning u start car and it makes noise but after car warms up.. there is no noises. Could be pistons.. Could be something else too... but you wont know until you do a tune up on that car. Thats the bottom line. You are going to see more things break down and make noises the more you keep driving it. Its just a matter of time. The sound you hear is a warning... Dont throw your money away because of a tune up.

If it is pistons I think it would be better to just buy the new engine cause the car has bout 165k on it so Ill have to get that motor sooner than I thought damn. No more spending money on BS well I Need a month that should do it and me and my buddy will put it in (well Ill sort of help ) hell do most of the work but hes a good person to do it and maby if I get him some BK or Micky D's well be all good. That doesnt work anymore.. Cha Ching is what I wanna hear so I can make the 240 .

The engine needs a rebuild and that cost more than buying a clean used motor it makes a tak tak ta ta ta noise from the drivers side cylinder head and peek in the valve cover and in there you'll see oil baked madness in there. The rims ah those there UGLY, the rear has a low offset that sticks it outside of the fender line and the joker who previously owned this car needs his head checked chrome spray paint from here to the muffler which was partially sprayed

HE doesnt need a jdm transmission his works fine.
