Well, its time to part ways. I bought this 92 Q45 with 169k in April and spent about $4200 in catchup maintenance. The only things left to do are spark plugs, ($270 dealer P&L) and steering rack bushings ($360 dealer P&L). Chain guides condition is unknown. Drives great.
I've done a lot of things for this car this year......New fuel pumpReplaced fuel control moduleNew water pumpNew beltsReplaced AC compressorReplaced AC receiver drierRecharged and flushed the AC with R12Radiator removed and cleaned (excellent condition)Synthetic oil changed every 3000mi for at least the last 4 years.Mobil 1 ATF flushed every year for at least the last 4 years.Used only OEM oil filtersNew belt pulleysNew tiresNew Bose amplifiersNew fan switchNew high pressure power steering hoseNew sunroof switchNew front brake pads this yearNew air filterNew fuel filterNew injectors in 2001New shocks in 2001New injector rail in 2001New alternator in 2001New EGR gasketXM satellite radio included!Remote startKeyless entryTinted windows
The body is absolutely gorgeous. Front leather seats are cracked and breaking. Rear seats are perfect. All power accessories work perfectly, including the sunroof. Runs well, shifts smoothly, transmission fluid is very clean. Idle is a little rough -- it hasn't seen new spark plugs in at least 4 years. XM radio is $10/mo plus extra for premium channels (Playboy, etc)
Carfax report is clean. Its never seen an accident.
School is starting in January, and I simply dont have the time to devote to this gem of a car. So its time to part ways. Maybe a few years down the road I'll get a 95, or maybe slip into a new M45. My Q will be missed. Its been across the country with me and has been my favorite car, ever. I would prefer to sell it to a NICO member who knows their stuff and can appreciate it.
I am asking $4400 negotiable. Mileage is 182k.
This is a good one to pounce on, since a lot of annoying R&R is done. If you're in the market for a first-generation Q, this will save you a few thousand off the bat. Washington state registration (I just moved to St Louis) expires Jan 1 2004.
