My 89 240sx is throwing a EGR code

how woudl i go about fixing this? is there a sensor? or is the valve just sticky?

i searched and i cant find anything on clearing the check engine light, i just want to clear it so i can smog (im in ca) and then i can swap in a RB series engine.

Another thread said you can ground the temp wire

there's a lot of stuff to check when you throw a egr light could be BBT valve, egr Valve, solenoid switch gone bad, bad charcoal canister, a hose may have fallen off, a hose may be Hooked up wrong. BTW most smog guys can tell if you've cleared your engine light or not, dudes are like gurus or sumthin. your best bet is to ask a smog guy they went to school to learn about egr systems its part of the smog system on cars.
