my 89 240 sx won't go over 3500 rpm

I need some help with what i think is an electrical problem and i was wondering if anybody on here has run into this problem b4. hit me back and let me know. by the way it's a 1989 240 sx i just bought it so i don't know much about it

3500? That's a different one. AT by any chance? Otherwise I'd have a look at the ECU or ignitor coil.

i was wondering if it could be a sensor of some sort and now it won`t start. it's 5 speed by the way.

I would say check your plugs first.Then you might want to check your MAF - I I know that w/ my MAF disconnected the car wouldn't rev past 3500 (though the FSM says that the car shouldn't rev past 2400 w/o the MAF it went to 3500)

Granted I have yet to fix all of my issues but hey, a good start for you would be your plugs (and report back on the status of them) and then your MAF wiring or sensor itself
