So I've been working at this for a week now, i went out to my car one day and my car would not start. All it does is try to turn over but doesn't.
It is not a "tick", it actually sounds like its gonna start but doesn't. I manage to start it sometimes but RARELY ever. My timing belt was last replaced in 2009.
If i do get it started it'll drive fine sometimes and as soon as i push on the gas pedal harder it start to putter and itll be hard to get it up a hill and then itll die on me.
Since this problem occured i bought new spark NGK Spark Plugs and Wires and installed them, that was not the problem. It is still not running.
My fuel pump works because i can hear it wen i turn the key before actually trying to start it.

Does anyone have any idea what my problem might be?

If it's cranking it should only take two things to start. Fuel and spark. It may not run right after that, but if you have them it should at least stumble. If I had to take a guess I'd say fuel pump / fuel filter.

Have you checked the battery voltage? Also, after it dies, do you have a hard time starting it up while it's still warm? What I mean is can you start it after it's been sitting for a while only?

OriginalWheelman- i bought a fuel filter and it still doesnt start. but however i did somewhat clean off my distributor cap and rotor and it ALMOST started. so i am going to buy a new cap and rotor next monday. that still doesnt solve my throttle problem though :/ i did talk to some people at Oriellys Auto Parts and they said to check my vaccume hoses because the air/fuel could be too lean and just kill my car so i might have to replace them. (Could it be my VAC fuse?)

Dattebayo- No i will try to check battery voltage. And my engine hasnt been warm for like a week because it wont even turn over anymore at all. i just dont want to try and start it so much that i flood my engine.

Are you smelling fuel when you crank it over a lot? The cap and rotor could cause it too. Like I said, spark and fuel. Get those in order fist. Even if it had disconnected vacuum lines it should still start. If your battery is dead, make sure you charge it for a while before you try and crank it over. It takes more than a minute or two to get the juice in there it needs.
