Alright guys, I'm gonna try to describe my truck. I'll put some pics up ASAP, but for now.... It's an 86 with the Z24i. It WAS a baby blueish metallic color. Now it just has primered spots and it's also faded to crap. It has rust in the bed, on top of the windows, hood, and roof. It's just surface area rust though. It obviously needs a paint job. The carb is acting up, but other than that the engine is in good shape. It might need a new exhaust though. This truck is an electrical NIGHTMARE!! The speedo doesn't work. The fuel gauge acts odd. Occasionally, the interior gauge lights will turn on and off. Sometimes the blinkers don't turn on, and the hazard switch doesn't work period. The brake lights don't turn on when the brake is pressed, However, they do turn on when the lights are on as well. The interior is in pretty good shape. The dash is cracked slightly on the drivers side. I need a new rearview mirror. I need a new stereo and definitely some new speakers. I think I've covered most of the problems, ha. Just thought I'd let you guys now what I'm in for haha. Any thoughts, comments, or suggestions would be appreciated! Thanks.

Welcome! Sounds like a little bit of a mess, haha. Shouldn't be too hard to fix. Surface rust is easy to knock out, just need a nice weekend for that. As far as the carb goes, clean it out (I'd recommend B12 carb cleaner) and check ALL of your vac lines, whether they lead to the carb or not. My truck was a little bit of a mess as far as electric goes too, I had the same problem with my brakes, blinkers, and interior lights. After it got back running good though it worked itself out. Any questions, just ask away and I'm sure someone around here will figure it out, hah.

Thanks man. I'll try cleaning out the carb too. I'm already gonna check the vac lines and fuel pump and filter too. I'm kind of a noob at this sort of stuff haha. So can I get the vac lines from say, Pepboys or something like that?

Pep boys, orilley's, autozone and so on. Electrically, attend to all the harness grounds first and the body ground from the engine. The lights that don't work, check the pedal switch first then the bulb. We all have quirks but won't part with our trucks. They're GREAT.

Hey guys I have an update! I just finished replacing my vac lines (finally) and aI also switched out my brake bulbs. It didn't fix the problem but it doesn't hurt either. I still have that mysterious radio problem, which I'm positive is something to do with my horrid electrics. Any comments or suggestions??

Another update haha. It seems the rattling noise under my truck is the cat itself. The rattling is literally coming from inside the cat. So a Magnaflow cat is going in it's place  . Hopefully I can still use the same cat when I get my custom exhaust though, we'll see.

gauges aren't rare. they only came in 4x4 tho. 4x4 single cab I think is slightly more rare than 4x4 King Cab.

Get in the back and just knock of the surface rust and hit it with some por15 and then paint it or bed line or what ever.

Looks good over all. I like the early bed style better. Very clean truck overall though. Does it run well now?

Thankfully it does run well now. I found out I also need a new muffler too, ha. But it's ok, they're not too bad price wise. More updates and pics (finally), coming soon :gapteeth:
