I have 164k on my Z as the original owner. I have always kept great care of the car, at least with 10 years as a daily driving (that got me to 125k) and the last 40k came from 94 to 2010 (about 2500 per year). For sure the car suffered with daily driver status living in San Diego was great, but 3 years in Phoenix where I was running big miles and high heat took a toll. Got rear ended in 1991 so I got a full paint job (very good place) so the dings and pings were gone as well as the cracking top coat where I'd had a previous repair but a less then great place.

So anyhow, to update you to present day....I took the car to my dad's detail guy and he went to town (okay, I will post pics soon, so don't flame me) on the car. He finishes the job and now time to drive to Mom's house across town. She lives in a gate community and I get to the gate where you need to talk to the guard and get a pass. He goes to the front to get the plate number, since the car has never worn a front plate he heads to the back, comes back to me and says "Mister, what is this, the new Z car? I heard they were working on one". "Nope, it is a 1984 car" is my reply. He didn't believe me, had to show him the reg to convince him...he was 20 years old, so the car is 26, totally funny. But the Z31 although it took a beating after the Z32 came out, is still one great looking car when it is in good shape.
