I just made a purchase of a 1985 4x4 standard 720. It was a scary, white-knuckle drive through a whiteout blizzard. I did a 360 spin on ice once and got stuck in a snow bank too. What should've been a 3 hour trip each way turned into the whole day a 11 hour drive with about an hour and a half of digging and pushing our car. The nissan turned out to be exactly as described, perhaps a little better and so the deal was made. Apart from my exhaust pipe falling off and my buddy getting stuck in the car we drove out there the drive home was far less terryfying. We left at 7:15am and got back at around 8pm.

$1000 Cash and here she is.

I haven't decided on a name yet, she sounds pretty manly right now, however I know she'll get prettier so I'm thinkin a more feminine name will be appropriate.

some of the emblems and stuff are off, but they're all just in the cab and need new snaps to reattach so no big deal. I thought cosmetically not too bad (but I'm ussually pretty good with bodywork) and the only real rust I saw was in the exhaust system and some light surface rust on the bed and bottom of the driver side door.

Right now she's got a high Idle, not too keen to start in our 10 degree weather and she stalls sometimes while driving (Scary!) , I just picked up some carb cleaner and I'm going to see if I can mess with the choke this afternoon and see if that helps a bit. I've also read that it could possibly be a fuel relay causing it to stall randomly while warmed up already. Also needs a new coolant resevior.

I knew she'd need some work and I'm happy with the amount there is so far so it should be a really fun project. I've got a Haynes Manual on the way and then I can maybe work on some serious stuff. Slated for this weekend is a very thorough cleaning and hopefully helping fab an exhaust (my roomates dad owns a fab shop. Score!) updates to come of course!

Its good you got home safe. That manual will help alot, as well as the stickies at the top of the 720 forum.
