I have a 1972 datsun 510. i bought it without a engine. I had a 1978 510 and i pulled the L20 from it. the 1972 510 had a l20b in it before. and i know the guy that owned it before me and he only has l20b;s to put it in. his engine cleared the sway bar and the cross member. my l20's oil pan hits both of those. whats different about the engines and what should i do?

Back when I had my 71 510 and did the L20B swap, I recall having to use the oil pan, pickup, and dipstick/dipstick tube from the L16 that was previously in the car.

I think you have a truck pan.The dime has a center sump pan and pick up.
