I am putting the finishing touches on my RB25 powered 240sx. Should be roadworthy in about a month.

Anyway, for my next project I am thinking of buying a 350/G35 body-in-white and building a RB26DETT powered version. Has anybody put an RB in a Z35 body yet? I want to start with a B.I.W. because I want EVERYTHING to be better than stock. I stripped my 240 to the shell and threw all the stock parts away with the exception of the doors and rear subframe. But everthing else is replaced. The shocks, springs, and brakes were replace with brand new aftermarket Skyline perfomance parts. Figured a B.I.W would save me some teardown time.

The VQ is a great motor to build, but it is rather expensive, so your idea sounds interesting. However, You may want to confirm if you have enough room in the engine bay. There's not a lot of room in front of and behind the VQ in a G or Z so that may be an issue. Not to mention the hood clearance gets pretty low the further forward you go.

And the 350Z's chassis is actually coded as a Z33, not a Z35.

Well the Rb in the Z33 has already been done. Top Secret has it and they use for the D1GP. It's pushing around 600hp I think.

That's cool. At least it isn't stateside. Only when they are here for the D1.

As stated by others its been done a few times. Seem to remember somebody talking about a Z33 at a HIN show with an RB26 in it. So I'd certainly imagine its been done stateside.

Ya its been done. Top Secrect has 2 350z's with RB26's in them plus a supra with one in there too. I say if you want to do it do it. It has not been over done or anything. I bet not to many state side, plus it will be pretty sweet, It will turn heads.Sounds cool too me.
