I turn it on in the morning, and it starts good, then after a few seconds, it idles so low to the point where I have to keep my foot slightly on the gas to keep it from shutting off. Its happened to me at a stop light and its annoying and consuming a gang of gas. It hauls a** after it gets going though. WHAT CAN IT BE???

It sounds like an IAC (Idle Air Control) Valve. Have you ever cleaned the throttle plates and intake? If the IAC valve has power and ground it's probably stuck in the off position. Taking it out and cleaning it may be your best bet.

Good Luck and Welcome

I was thinking the same thing... might not be letting enough air through, but still putting in normal amounts of fuel... making it seem like its running rich.

The only other thing I could think of would be a leaky injector.

Could it be a possibility that its the fuel pump? It sounds like it cuts in and out, but that may be because its not getting enough fuel before it reaches the pump...DAMN IT! Any help would be great! Thanks a million.

Im not sure about the z32 but here is a quick check list in no particular order.

PCVEGR MAFAnd the dirty air filter that probably caused the problem

If it was the fuel pump, hitting the pedal wouldn't help.

I have never known a dirty air filter to cause any serious problems... maybe just cause it to be a little sluggish. It would have to be SERIOUSLY blocked to cause problems. Same with EGR. PCV is pretty rare, and wouldn't cause a problem like this... and if a MAF is acting wierd... all bets are off, anything can happen.
