I had a 90 240sx with a rb20 in it and loved it. I ended up trading for a 431hp eg hatch, big mistake. The day I traded it the transmission messed up, and I never drove it again. So, I traded that for my 92 coupe, had a sr20 s13 blacktop in it. Ran like s*** when I got it, but I tweaked it and got it running really good. I was unimpressed with that though, so I traded swaps with a guy out of winston salem nc. Long story short, he f*** me. I got a r31 rb20 eccs redtop  . well I did some research and found that the blocks are the same and some say its a little stronger. I also found out that you can put r32 ecu and harness on the redtops and bring them up to the power of the r32 silver top. I set out to do this. I ended up getting a deal on a head with bent valves, intake, and everything bolted to both ($80). So now I need valves, but those things are way to high. In looking I found that the r31 and r32 use the same valves. I pull the valves out of the r31 head, and striped the r32 head down. I dropped the r32 head and r31 valves off the get a 3 angle and a good .040 shaved off the head. Why shave the head? I am trying to get into the 9s compression wise. To help spool this hx35(8blade) I have for it. I have the head back and am going through it with a dia grinder doing some port work, along with stem seals and stuff like that. I got the ex side almost done and pulled the stem seals out. Now on to the pics....

This is what I ended up with.

At least it has a Greddy timing belt.

I have a full gaskit kit here, and have arps on the way. Looking for about 300 on low (7psi) boost, and trying to get full boost(7psi) at around 32-3500 rpms. I also have a 38mm ex wastegate that will go on too. I have a ton of other parts too.

So what do you guys think so far?

That a tophat intake manifold on that motor? Your prob going to need more than 7psi to hit 300hp.

I am doing more then just bolting a hx35 on it. I do want close to 4 with high boost, but there are a ton of things that will go into getting that number. I should be in the 9.3-1 range and that will help, the vavle job and port work that I am doing will too. I all so have a set of r31 cams (248in/240ex), the intake cam is a bit bigger on the r31 then the r32. I am all so getting it tuned, and running a topmount manifold with an external 38mm. If I dont see 300hp on 7 I will be damn close.

I am not sure about the manifold brand, I cant see any markings on it and it was on the motor when I got it.

What????
Dude I am taking my time, and the head was resurfaced and is smooth those marks are tooling marks.

This is what I did to the intake splitters. Ports are still dirty and need to be cleaned.

My arps came in and I started replacing the gaskets. I am all so removing the turbo water lines as mine is a oil cooled only. I put the new water pump on too. I just have to do the rear main seal and button up the head.

I need mounts if anyone has any for sale.

:dblthumb: Thanks, I hope to have it together in the next few weeks.

I no longer have the turbo, but I was informed that it was a later r34 turbo.
