It's taken over a month but it's finally almost over. An alpine headunit, a pair of CDT EF-61 6.5" components in the doors, and in the trunk; 2 x 3wy active crossovers, 2 10" subs in custom fiberglass boxes, 400 watts feeding the subs from a Directed amp and 300 watts powering the components from my "old school" Soundstream amp. Here are a couple pics...

My new CDT 6.5's in custom leather wrapped door pods;

My accessory rack that holds my power distribution, the passive crossovers for the components and my active crossovers as well...

My custom sub box(es)...My trunk...

The amps are under the carpet where the spare tire used to be. The last thing I'd like to do is fiberglass a nice rack for the amps, cut an unusually shaped hole in the deck, put in a sheet of thick plexi, and light up the amps with a light or two. I should get to that in the next couple of weeks. Please feel free to leave any and all comments, suggestions, questions etc. I look forward to some feedback. This stereo is not only clean at any volume but the imaging and soundstage are almost spot on. I can't say enough about CDT speakers. They sound good and LOUD. Even on the highway next to a semi with both the top and windows down on a windy day.

Thanks -Glyph

zerepdivad, good question. Here's your answer. The CDT crossovers come with an extra 2 outs designed for what they call "image enhancing tweeters". They're an extra set of tweets you place on the dash or in your a-pillars facing AT the windshield at approx a 30 - 40 degree angle. The crossover only sends them freq.'s from 13,000 hz on up and they're vol. level is attenuated quite a bit. The goal is not to "hear" them per say, but to have them subtely almost subconsciously raise your soundstage from speaker level to the level of the dashboard. I've got them dbl sided taped on the dash rt now so I can move them around 'til I find the optimum location and angle for them. At that point I'll go through the trouble of routing their speaker wires thru the vents etc. So to answer your question; no, what you're seeing is actually speaker wires lol. Good eye though.

Thanks for all your responses. Keep 'em coming.
