As it sits now.

Bad day for the ka24de

Bent valves across the board.

I have a couple questions about the butter flies in the intake plentium do they open and close and do they rob horsepower and if so how do i take them out? Does anyone in jersey have a spare ka24de head laying around if so how much im in middletown.my aim sn is wildryders01 im me

Of course the butterflies open in the intake manifold.... if they didn't you wouldn't get air through there except or iac.

nah thats a dual cam, for some reason he just has the idler gear sitting there.

the sohc only had 12 valves i believe.

and no, the butterflies in the intake manifold dont "rob horsepower" they were actually meant to help with low end torque, but they discontinued them in s14 ka's since they dont really help at all.

i took them out of my kade's manifold

Oh your right. I made that assumption based on that 1 cam sprocket. Good call

i wouldve thought the same thing if i didnt have to keep taking off my timing cover to mess with my cam's timing chain.

plus i just did the rebuild on the motor.

I got an entire engine and auto trans sitting around but the bottom end needs to be rebuilt. Its only got 88k miles on it. Probably could part out the head

Car: I HAD a 1991 240sx coupe. woked NA motor. ran like 14.5 ish. blew it up @ 140 after an ECU reflash.
