my 240sx start but when i try to accelerate, it wanted to die!!!!!!!need healp!!

hi everyone.

well i have a problem. i blow my ka24de, so i went and got a new ka24de and i did the swap. after waiting for so long and everything was done. i start it and it wont start because of my battery. so i jump it and it start fine. then later i heard a rattle noise and it was coming under the head cover. so i start taking it out. and notice whoever owned that engine before use different screw for the head cover. so i start taking it out and notice the piece that is under the head cover where the screw goes in was strip. so thats why they was using different screw. but enough of that. where it was strip was where up front near on top of the timing chain. luckily i saved my blown ka24de so i took the timing chain cover and replace it. so every screw on the head cover goes in but except the three on top near the spark plug. its loose because i think its strip also.

i then start the car again after i got that fix, and the rattle was gone. now i have another problem, when the car start it sound like an old muscle car with the loud exhaust. it was coming from the manifold. so i checked it out and i forgot to screw it back on tightly. so i went out and bout me some bolt and screw it on. at the same time when the car start every time i accelerate it die. so what am i doing wrong? the car start but everytime i step on the accelerate it wanted to die on me.

yo i got the same problem... my tiiming chain went now i got that rattling noise and i cant get rid of it.... wen i got to accelerate it feels like its goin to die but i got to let off the clutch faster and give it gas. and when i drive to long i got to let the car sit for an hr at east just so it starts back up. im workin on the problem now...

well i park my 240 in my garage and had to work on it so now i am working on it. and i put in a different ka24de and now that happened. i need to find out why it want to die when i step on the gas. one say its my spark plug and spark plug wire. the other one say its my timing chain. so i will checked all three and change my spark plug. i do have brand new sprak plug wire. and will check the timing chain. hopefully it work.

the best advice i have is i got a 240 with a ka24de and i kept fixing it and it breaks down get a sr20 and save your money on a real engine. or make sure your throttle body sensor harness is all the way conected if its half way on the car will keep startn and dyin.

i dont want a sr. i always love the ka. ka is a killer engine. the throttle is good.

got the same problem on my 92 s 13. idles fine give it fast throttle it wants to die. changed the coolent temp sensor,maf,tps,cleaned the iacv,new plugs cap rotor wiers,ran a vacume check(wich is fine),new knock sensor,and still have same problem. easy on the gas it revs up,and get a code 55

dude, me and my brother did everything from re doing the timing, to check the vacuum, to everything. now its getting better. the car runs but when i step on the gas it take a long time to rev up the rpm. so gay! my s13 is making my head hurt real bad!

did you look into fuel related things?
