Hey guys i have some questions about body work but heres the story on how i got it this far. Well when i first picked up my car in early october 2009 it had a massive dent in the side. It didnt bug me to bad at first because i was so happy that i had bought my first car with my hard earned money. Well about 2 weeks ago i looked at it and was like man that dent is getting kinda old now and i dont want it there anymore. ( heres a pic of the dent )[IMG][/IMG] So i backed it into my garage and went to work...Well im only 17 and dont have alot of know about of body work so i used what i had...My foot, a hair dryer ( pointless i know lol ) and a car jack a.k.a. scissor jack. I got the majority of the dent out doesnt look too bad in person looks way worse in pics like any other dent lol but i need some help on where to go from here im ready to get my car in pretty good shape before i start modding her..She's only got 139k too which is a bonus so please help me out..Here are afew pics of the dent after i got done with it..not the best job but i used what i had. [IMG][/IMG]

Thanks guys any input on what to do know will be a great help..Im not much of a bodywork kinda guy im more of a engine performance so im willing to learn what to do to fix her cosmetic problems so Please help me out... Thanks guys

well, it looks like you added some creases in the metal, and chances are, you stretched some of the metal as well. the only way to get it almost right would be to cut it out and weld in a new qp. over fenders are another possibility, but it would look all types of retarded without wheels to fill them. you aren't going to save that qp, not without a lot of work, time, experience, and/or body filler.

hope that helps

oh, ok. someone on my road has a 240 like yours so i thought that might have been you i had that same problem with my rear QP. I removed the back seat, took a rubber mallet, and knocked 97% of the dent out. You can't really tell anymore.

Its EasyLike You I Am Also 17I Also Have A S13 And With The Same Damages

My Dad Owns His Own Shop So He Thought Me All These Tricks

You Only Need To Investe In $80First Thing Buy Some Bondo_$30Next Buy Some Hardner_$5Rip A Peice Of Card Bored BoxAdd Filler And Hardner Mix Till The Color ChangeFill The Whole QP With BondoIt Will Come Out Ruff At FirstBut Keep On Trying Till It Comes Out SmoothBuy Some Sand Paper_$15Sand The QP Till Its Level WIth The Body Of The CarNow Go To Autozone And Buy The Primer In The Spray Paint Bottle_$25And Spray ItOr You Can Pay A Local Body Shop $125 To Prime It For YouAnd When You Get More Money You Can Paint It Took Match The Car

Heres What I Did With My 240sx

And These Are Pictures Of MY First S13 When It Was Hit

Back Then I Didnt Know Much So I Used A Hammer And A Dent Puller And Tryed To Line It Back To Shape Then I Left It Like That And It Started To Get Rusty....(I Dont Idvise This But Its Cheaper If You Have Dent Puller And A Hammer

Too much bondo. nice try. I would strip it off, sand it all down and primer the corner then hit it with sealing black. Cut the fenders, weld the seam, and go with the smallest Orgin overfenders you can find. Just make sure you get some wheels to fit them for now.

I Didnt Use That Much Bondo. I Just Spred It Around To Make It Level With The Body Of The Car

Yea If You Take Out The Panal Near The Speaker You Can Get To The Damages But The Antenna Motor Might Be In Your Way. I Learned That The Hard Way I Tryed Working Around It And I Ended Up Cuting The Harness.

I would not do the bondo Idea, thats alot of bondo. When there is that much bondo in one area it will most likely crack in a few years. Or if you ever want to roll your fenders the bondo will also most likely crack. I would not want this to happen if I painted my car afterwards and have cracks all through my paint. But that is just my opinion.

Its Not That Much BondoI Just Spread It Around So It Will Lay Flat With The Rest Of The CarBut Hopefully By Next Summer I Would Be Able To Afford Some OverFenders And It Would Cover ItI Was Gonna Cut Off The Rear QP Off My Old 240sx And Put It On My New 240sx But My Dad Told Me I Still Need To Weld It And Then Use Bondo Over It And It Didnt Seem To Make Sense So I Might As Well Pull Out Whatever I COuld Off The Car And Bondo The Rest And It Came Out Good(And Heres A LiL Info Over 90% Of 240sx Has Been Repaired With Bondo And It Never Cracked On You Yet Right)

Im trying to get an exhaust for christmas, umm probibly lower it 2 inches..headers intake..just the usual stuff for the time being cause i have to save for collage....Going to montgomery collage for automotive technology..its like 35-45 min away so i can live at home and not have to pay for a dorm..I eventually want to either turbo it or do an sr swap, And get rims..lots of ideas that float through my head for my car it has potential..but in the near future like next 2 monthes will be exhaust, lowering springs, and headers. havent done much research on springs though.. I heard Tien was good?
