it seems like it just doesn't wanna live anymore. It never runs good for more than a week until something else goes wrong. So far, 1 engine, 2 clutches, a waterpump, powersteering belt and pump, a rear strut, and numerous small parts have gone bad. And now, it's back at the shop because it has no power and the exhaust manifold was glowing red.:( The little 240 that could won't die if i have anythign to do with it!

I'm sure I'm not the only one. These cars seem to be fairly high maintainence.

Wow, you are EXTREMELY lucky!

My car has 160,000 or so miles on it and there's been quite a bit that I've had to fix, but nothing outside of the usual maintenance items, such as clutch, brakes, and fuel pump. There WAS the timing chain thingy though....

^ that's definitely true. I doubt mine was taken care of very well before I had it. The body is in good condition though

try to do a carfax and see if you can see what happened in the past, from day1 that the car elft the showroom floor if something went wrong it could still affect it today

Well be not suprised when you own a car. They need care. Some people run cheap gas, cheap oil, and buy non-oem style parts cause they are $50 cheaper, and take your cars to little garages where mechanics dont know about the little nuances of Nissan engineering (or couldnt give a sh*t if you last longer than 30 days).

Its a fact. These things will shorten the life of your car. Not saying all of you are the like, but thats why i do my own maintenance cause i dont trust the other mechs. Its not their baby.

I do as much maintainence as I can. There's a point where I just don't know what I'm doing and woudl rather have someone else do it for me.
