My 240sx is in New Orleans

Well last thurs. I parked my car behind a Best Westren and rode their shuttle to the airport. Friday, in Canada, I'm watching CNN and I see the first story on the hurricane heading towards New Orleans. Does anyone have any information about the Kenner area or near the new orleans international airport?

Come friday I'll be 4wheeling in the rockies and I would kinda like to put my mind at ease. Or atleast have an idea of what to expect..

On a plus note all my family and friends have made it just fine.

Sorry to hear about the car. Good thing is your family is fine.

My grandmother's sister lives about an hour outside New Orleans, and I haven't heard anything about her so Im hoping she's okay. I've never been close to her, but when something like this happens it still gets you worried.

I personally haven't seen anything about Kenner, but New Orleans is basically wiped out. There is a special (Dateline or something) coming on at 10 on ABC I believe, Im planning on watching it maybe they'll mention that area.

his sons (3 of them) all their homes are in at LEAST 4 feet of water

and depending on what area in kenner, i can't remember at the moment, it night be gone, some places in kenner reported no water and some reported 5 feet of water. and you got to rememebr that even if you didn't get flooded you have to worry about flying debris. sorry man glad to hear your family made it out ok.

and depending if they are east or west and hour away from new orleans they should be alright. i am two hours west of new orleans and everything is ok for the most part.

Well I'm sure it'll be about a month before I can get over there to check it out but from what pictures I've found it didn't look like it flooded much around the airport. I'll keep hoping for the best but prepare for the worst.

Update: I got my car back last night! She is running fine. I could swear she was gave me an extra 10 more horses of joy to be drivin home. No real damage that I've been able to find.

Only things that happen where the wind folded the side view mirror in I just pop it back.

There was some grass blown in and stuck between the driver side window and the molding. Just wiped it off.

My radio is not working.

The passenger side back tire was flat. But my muffler that was on it's way out is now totally fubar. Man it's loud.

Well since I had to go to Candada and not get paid for half my trip the Muffler is going to have to wait a month or 2 untill I can catch up on all my bills. Ahh well but I'm glad to have my car back in great shape.

Congrats on getting your car back. Lucky you. It must have been some fast wind to fold the mirrors back. My buddy came back from Louisianna and he snapped a pic of an S14 in some rubble.

I plug the back tire. I must have ran over a nail on my way to the airport there. That's fine. My 2 rear speakers are working but not my fronts, weird.

I don't know what 130mph cross winds did to my muffler but I think If I took it off it would sound the same.

No doubt glad to have my car back. SO is my wife haha

My car was trapped there too....on the fifth floor of the airport parking garage.

I was glad to get mine back too...with NO damage.
