My Symptoms:1) HORRIBLE hesitation2) rough idle (starts up fine but quickly wants to die off, have to rev it to stay alive.)3) Has not let me go over 4,000 rpms4) takes forever to get up to speed5) will shake sometimes at speeds of 55 - 606) floor it and it doesnt go anywhere!!!!

Ok here's the problem I bought my 240sx (ka24de) knowing that it was messed up. The guy I bought it from told me that he took it to a mechanic and they told him that one of the injectors were faulty. So I replaced that to find out that it didn't do anything. I then did a slight tune up replacing the fuel filter, air filter, oil, plugs, rotor button, and distributor caps. That didn't really do much of anything either. I then messed around with it some more and I found out that my cat was busted and was clogged, so I took it to get changed and it ran a little better but then started to run worse. I also tested the maf by unplugging it, and it idled a lot better. So I got another maf and it did the same thing.

I let it sit for a day or two cause I was tired of messing with it, and then I took it to a mechanic who is a buddy of mine and we did numerous test on it. We did a compression test to find that it was 135. Diagnosed the ecu and received a code: 34. He said that he wasn't receiving any vacuum numbers in any of the lines either. We did find out that one of my spark plug wires (which I didn't replace) was HORRIBLE. It would barely sit on the plug, I know that is one of my problems but I still don't think that's all the problem.

Please someone help me out, I don't know what to do anymore.

Why don't you PAY a competent technican to diagnosis? Instead of swapping this and that."a mechanic who is a buddy of mine" means what?

well I mean he's actually one of my mom's friends and he didn't charge me hardly anything to look at it.

ok well i went to crank up my car today and it started up fine, and then immediately just died out. And when I give it gas it wants to die off, I think that it's not getting any air. We tried checking the vacuum lines and we couldn't find any vacuum. Idk what to do.

did you change the fuel filter? was the car sitting for awhile before you bought it? fuel may be clogged in filter or fuel pump, for it to be an air restriction you would have to have a serious clog for it to die out on you, but fuel can do the same thing.

if you can take a long screwdriver while the engine is running and put the handle against your ear against each injector, they should all be ticking the same speed, if they sound good, then go for filter then pump.

well i did take my pump out the other day to look at the sock, and it is pure dirty. The pump thing is just pure black and my fuel pump is probably almost gone, so i'm replacing it.
