Its cool that you got the swap done but just not enough power pick up for it to be worth doing.
thanks for advice. i will save some money and try to trade my items .racer37355 wrote:the cam in your motor will drop off after 5000 rpms right in the middle of the power band of the intake. the e cam is ok but still too big of a intake for the e cam. also if you swap to a e cam you will have to change the valve springs for increase in lift and duration. the gt-40 heads are ok not the greatest but with matched parts can get a 3200 pound stang into the 12s in the 1320. so if you choose to keep the intake go with a BIGGER cam than the e cam but if you go with a bigger cam then the heads will be the bottle neck. my o2 cents of imput would swap for a smaller intake, slicks, and practice.the cam in your car now would work GREAT with a performer intake..1500-5000 power band. now for the tire..wilder isnt always better. im not sure of the choices for a DOT for a 18 inch rim..so id look at nitto drag radials. they arent my choice of tire but they do help.
is this ur time ?Blown240sx wrote:Stock KA with exhuast intake = 15.3
dont worry man, hope last forever !!!nookie2692000 wrote:guys its been awhile too long. sorry... bad news. had to sell the 240. was working reduced hours was short on bills so i had to sell it. anyways. i been working a different job. making alot more money. soon hopefully i will have another 240. most likely wont be a coupe though not too many cheap ones around here. only hatches. anyways. i do plan to continue the 302 swap. going with a 5sp this time around. got to save up a little money for a car. i cant say for sure about your question with denting the firewall back and pushing the motor back a bit or not will work. i did have to dent it back a little bit though to fit it like in the pics you seen. the rear sump if i remember correctly would only have to be notched back about a 1/2". dont remember exactly but it was about that to fit around the rack and pinion.
maybe some pix of ur swap will help us !! =)5.0_s14 wrote:i just bought a stock front sump off of a 70s model 302 for 50 bux and it fit past my crossmember
