I installed an sr20det into a 1990 240sx ive got everything done, i went to start it and it started up rough i pulled the packs off and tested spark and only cylinder 1 and 2 are firing 3 and 4 are dead i first tried swapping coil packs with one that worked and nothing. I then tested the packs for ignition on 12 volt power and they are all getting power i tested them where they get the signal from the ignitor and they were all getting low voltage when cranking the engine over but the 2 that wont fire are getting higher voltages than the 2 that fire. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Have you done a compression test, or checked the injectors?

You need compression, fuel and spark to make a cylinder fire. You've checked one, now check the others.

double check your wiring, if your shure its ok. check the ignitor per fsm, and if you extended those wires check them too, then onto using a different ecu.

Would the ignitor stop just two coil packs from giving spark? How should I check the ignitor? Voltmeter? If so what sort of voltage should i see when cranking it over?

the ignitor will stop just 2 cylinders from firing. This recently happened to me, the ignitor was causing the 3rd cylinder not to fire in my redtop. I dont know how to troubleshoot the ignitor, i would just go to a parts store/junkyard and pickup one of a q45 or which ever one you have on there.
