Stock temp gauge isn't very accurate at all. Get an aftermarket temp gauge and keep an eye on your temp's for any spikes.

Do your RPMs kind of bounce up then stumble back down before it dies?Might be a vacum leak somewhere. Are you pulling any codes?

sometimes it jumps alittle bit but most of the time the rpms drop especially when i'm slowing down out of gear so i usually slow down in gear untill the last min. but it still sometimes will bottom out and will try to recover makeing a bogging sound but other times it doesnt even try to get back up idling rpms i still dont think its overheating (even though i could be wrong) becouse it will do it even with ikn the first 15 min of run time after not being used for several hours even all night

Maybe a fuel problem? Check your fuel pressure if you can.

Vacuum leak? My old escort did the same, I had to constantly hit the gas pedal at stops so it wouldn't die. Ended up being a vacuum leak from a worn out manifold gasket. A couple of weeks ago my 240 started doing the same. Once again it turned out to be a vacuum leak, this time from one of the hoses from the intake pipe which had come off.
