No I will not leave it
No I will not fix it with zipties
No I will not put a giant band-aid over it

My cars getting pretty beat up which makes me sad. I figured its about time that i do something about it. My gas cap wont close, my door was smashed, my fenders cracked, my bumpers cracked, my skirts chipped, and the damn bondo the last owner put on is cracking. I just got a new door and painted it. But it came out more greyish and it doesnt match. Idk if this is because the paint sat for 6 months or because the paint on the car sat in the sun for 6 months. In some lightings the paint almost looks whiter while the old paint having a touch of yellow. heres the contrast
Image
you can even tell i took the handle from the old door
So i figure if i have to buy new paint for the door I might as well fix some other stuff. including this
Image
why the f*** would you bondo your rear bumper on
Image
thats what happenes when the streets being repaved and the sewer caps are 6 inches tall
and then this, idk know how it happened. it was a very small crack, and then one day I looked and it was a inch or so long
Image
so now I ride around like this..I heard this was the new look
Image

I'm going to be switching to oem metal fenders since my front wheels dont sit flush and selling my 20mm ones. If anyones interested let me know. And yes the crack will be fixed.

I swear to god I have to abuse my nissan's. If I don't they break. If I take it easy on them thats when they break, so I never stop beating on them. My friends all do the same.

Difference is I maintain my cars. Big difference then just leaving them as is.

:( Boo Folkert, I really envy your car lol. Sad to hear its becoming haggard.

^^However i feel the same way, haven't abused mine in a while, and I feel like something is about to break...

ugh...molded kits are retarded...
all things considered though folkert, its really not bad....maybe its fallen beneath youre standards but, still not really that bad. if you left it beat and added zipties, the car would be worshipped in the "best looking" thread lol

Yeah I've been noticing my Coupe isn't as clean as I thought it was, and a friends beat hatch is overall cleaner than my car. My BMC looks like a fire was sitting next to it for about 30mins.

bondo can hold up, but molded bumpers + slammed= trouble. my bumpers hit pavement quite a bit. and the bondo just cant handle that. Im going to be trying a little trick i thought of for the front bumper, going to put springs between the bolts so under hard pressure the bumper will raise a bit. idk might work might not, we'll see.

yea its not too bad. but I like my car clean which makes it different sadly. i should have put zipties all over and took a picture before i fix it. Im working on the fender right now so thats out of the way.

Also I want to add. I wouldnt be doing this if this was my dd. I just picked up a 84 vw rabbit that im going to daily. So basically the 240 will only be driven on roads i know, that means no suprise potholes, speed bumps, sewers and other s***. So it should stay looking nice

its the one in illinois. too bad, i'd like to see some s13s. At the last UTI show there were only a couple trashed s14s.

got a little done today. mostly worked on my rabbit though. to my suprise my dad (the copier doctor) had a customer come over to drop off a machine. The guy pulled up in a 70's rabbit diesel! haha that was a pleasant suprise.
anyway finished the front bumper and mounted the fender
this is a horrible picture, sorry. anyway the bumper still looks more white then the yellowish other paint.

i could have done a touch better on the lip. but it looks 1000x better then before. theres miniscule holes that i could have filled in with bondo but I didnt want any bondo on it. and doing another layer of fiberglass wouldnt have been worth it for the time it wouldve taken
tommorow ill be able to fix the bumper gap hopefully and redo my damn door. then i should be done! untill then check out these sweet zipties. takata green ftw

^ haha you know where illinois is right? haha not close. glen ellyn is a little west of chicago. if you want them shipped let me know. but really its not worth it. your going to pay as much for shipping as you will the product.
