i kno im a bad writer, but damn. thats one BIG sentence.

first off, when was the last time you did a tune up. btw, changing your oil and air filter doesnt count as a full tune up. replacing cap, rotor, wires, plugs, possibly an aftermarket cat, oil, transmission fluid. any moron can do this and hopefully not mess it up... why do you think it could be the egr.

Henryt, you need to chill out. No one's calling anyone a moron. Now onto your problem. Oil 6 months ago? yeah it's time for an oil change at the very least. With the car on, push up on the diaphram of the egr and see if your car sputters or almost dies. if it almost dies out, then your egr is functioning properly. If you see no change, you've probably got an egr that's clogged to hell.

well first of all, I did change the oil. But, that is not the problem. You were to talk about spark plugs and **** and i was telling u that i did change it recently. not oil, but anyways i did check the egr valv e and it does work properly. I need advice not what i already know alright.

Hmmm, that doesn't make sense; who are you saying is giving you info you already know? you don't give much info yourself... and saying you already told whoever that you did that already... you didn't tell anyone you did anything like spark plugs/etc until after a post where someone mentions it... I'm amazed anyone is helping you @ all w/ that kind of attitude.

Can you explain "stick from 1000 - 3000 rpm"? Is it hard to push the pedal - like physically? Or is it just not really accelerating but the pedal moves in & out?

And the sputter/weird noises - sputter like the rpms go up & down and the car bogs and goes crazy, sputter/weird like you are hitting a rev-limiter, or sputter/weird like you are back firing like crazy?

I'm "thinking" it is literally hard to push the pedal and it feels like it is sticking/not moving until you force it - that's my interpretation of your first post - if that's wrong, well, o well.

Have you checked ur throttle pulley by hand (w/ car off) and see if it moves freely? If it doesn't, you may want to pull the intake tube and see if any carbon build-up/gunk has accumulated causing the pedal to feel "sticky". If it has, then spray it down w/ carb cleaner and wipe it off w/ a shop rag or some other relatively clean rag.

No i dont think he means its stuck. I think he means when he pushes the gas down after a shift the car has acceleration jump-problems. like it is jumping a little then almost a feeling of being in neutral then jumping a little more before catching and moving. I just recently bought a '92 with this problem. I dont think it is a clutch problem because if you lightly push the pedal down and very slowly let it accel you have no major problem. Maybe thats what he meant... I too am having a start problem, but havent cleaned and flushed everything as of yet. any thoughts???
