Long story short: car was broken into, newly installed alarm never went off and the dash around my radio bezel and all the plastic from the climate control and down to the shifter is cracked and broken. The dash board around the cd player was damaged as the criminals were jabbing screw drivers into it.

I know the plastic bezel can be replaced but what about the lower dash area? In the 1997 240sx is the whole dash board an entire piece or can i remove the lower part? Please help guys, I know the cops wont. And i had liability insurance so those people wont cover crap either. Thanks.

Welcome to the club man...Had mine broken into also about 3 years ago. Bastards broke the driver side window and also jammed the radio, but no damage on the dash. Sorry to tell you, but the dash part you're talking about around the radio is part of the whole dash.

Does some sort of dash repair service exist? If not what do you guys think I can do to get rid of these blemishes?

Sucks man, someone "broke into" my car too. My window doesn't work sometimes so even if I lock my car, someone could easily unlock it. When I was at school, someone stole my textbooks. What is that... who steals textbooks? And for what? Now I have to pay another $300 for new books, that's some stupid sheet.

who installed your alarm? If it's a defect in the alarm see if they have some kind of warranty that covers the stolen property. My old CrimeGuard unit had a $1000 theft protection. Supposedly.

either way...sucks man but welcome to the club :P

Dude your stupid to say hmm someone was banging their system too loud. Its an old cd player from my previous wrecked car which is scratched up. The car I was parked next to had a XM system and everything. The idiots didnt even touch my amp or sub. Oh yeah they were jealous of my FM radio and barley working cd player...

Anyways I spent about 300 for a python alarm which the guy supposedly said was only sold to dealers who are authorized by that company. I believe there is a 1000-3000$ payment if the alarm fails but towards the insurance dudctable (SP). My insurance currently does not cover theft. So no dash repair, no insurance money I guess im screwed with an ugly dash then?

Ok I just called Directed the main company that sells the Python alarm. Those bastards said that they only cover my ****ing car when its stolen and none of the items inside it. I hate these bastards, basically even tho their alarm was defective its my fault it didnt go off. And they wont pay ****

I went to nissan and they quoted 500 for a new dash plus install which would be over 1k. He instead sent me to a guy that does interior repairs and for 75 bucks, some paint and work, the bumps, cuts and tears are gone. It looks good as new. Now I just need to search for the plastic parts at a junk yard (yes its hard to find wrecked s14's). Thanks for your replies guys.

IT's hard to find wrecked s14's? They seem to be getting cut down, about once a week around here. Check the previous pages. Either these cars are unsafe at any speed, or the people operating the cars are driving poorly.

The parts are out there, and getting more and more available each week.

I live in Houston, TX, when I did a search it seems like every place except houston has a wrecked s14. I will keep calling but about a month ago when I tried, out of 10 places I called, 2 had a 95 s14. Both had their engines and most of the body already stripped.
