well i just baught a 1996 240sx and decided to do a build on this one. im building a vq35de for turbo. i also have a 350z 6speed transmission for my 240. i will take a bunch of pics and keep this updated as i move along with the project.

oh yea this is my first build so im kinda learning as i go along. any opiniion is greatly welcomed enjoy.

this is the 240 it will go into

and for the engine

the car i got this engine from was consumming alot of oil from the rings not beeing staggered. looks like the owner just ran the car and kept adding oil whenever it was low.

and the transmission

Looks awesome! Let us know the update on the build. How much is this swap currently running you? Are you going to fabricate everything yourself? I was planning to do this swap but price and fabrication takes a long time.

Congrats, looks like it will be challenging but worth it in the end.

So that's what a VQ timing chain looks like, damn that thing is long.

Step 1. Remove that wing and BURN IT WITH FIRE!!!.

If I had the money I would take the VQ40 out of the Pathfinders and drop that into my S14. 270hp/290ftlbs of torque... I'm not sure that the 350Z transmission will bolt up though. I believe it is the same engine just bored out to a 4.0 liter. I would call it the 400SX.

The hardest part of your swap will be the wiring.

looks good, not a big fan of the carbon fibre though. from far away it just looks like you have a great paint job with a bumper that doesn't match. how's the engine swap coming along?
